Can any of our members guide me towards a definitive procedure for the WiFi connection between CS2 and an ithingy.

I am pretty sure there is some sort of dialog between the Router and the ithingy - but try as I may - CS2 will not communicate to the Router through the Ethernet Cable connection. All numeric data has been checked many times over for compatability between the devices but as yet - no connection - and by any definition it should not be that difficult. Thanks in advance.

We can't check the data coz you don't show any.
Theoretically you just set the CS2 to DHCP and all numeric values will be set automatically.

Do you have a PC connected? "http://192.168.1.3/" in a browser should show the internal web server of the CS2 - should also work with an iThingie, but if it doesn't work via WiFi a test from an Ethernet device cannot harm.

These are my settings. The IP configuration is kind of similar to yours (I have a fixed IP for the CS2, though).

But, there is also an essential CAN IP setting in the setup tab if you scroll sideways.
This should be set to the broadcast address of your IP network, ie - 3 first IP parameters the same as your network and the last digit set to the broadcast address (x.x.x.255).

Then any device that uses CAN over IP like the iThingies on your home network can connect to the CS2 with the software apps.

Good news Juhan - thanks for your help - a connection has been made more by accident than design. The IP Address for some reason has settled on automatically on 192.168.1.64 - but the IP Gateway refuses to accept any input/entry and remains blank. What an experience to stand 10 meters from the track and connect with a Lok - dangerous stuff!

It brings a new dimension to the control of Märklin model railways and in this case 6 Lok control dials - 2 on CS2 and 4 on the iThingy, who needs this many? Many thanks again.
