Hello Gents,

Just reposting this amazing info with my query.
It has been a great benefit to my progress in working with Marklin material.

I would love to know when the handbook "Miniature Railways" was published.
Anyone have their best guess at this by seeing the contents?

Cheers,
Mark

FYI - I should add that you need not be put off by the Spanish if you can't read the language.
There are many catalogs and resource materials in those links that are in English, aka Inglés.

If that one is of interest then I also highly recommend these handbooks in German...
(visuals alone are great and there is always Google translator)

These all come from these pages:
(As mentioned before on this forum)
http://www.lctm.info/Biblioteca/Libros/index.htm
http://www.lctm.info/Bib...alogos/Marklin/index.htm

I have downloaded everything from these pages in all languages.
Wish I could find dls from 1999 til the present though!
Anyone else have these?

I only have the downloaded version of the "Miniature Railways" booklet, but I thought of printing it out many times, just one more task.

BTW - Do you know the exact number or a place where I can download the PDF for said '85 M-mag?
- Mark

There is also the special 1985 English Edition of the Marklin Magazine with the rather good historical section in the middle and a heap of other interesting stuff in the mag.

Great to know, Wolf!
Thanks so much.

Perfect for us as we set out layout in Era III beginning in 1955.

I really like the extra info about the prototypes... and now have a better idea about signals with whistles, horns, and hand-signals ref p 125

Two more questions for everyone:
Does anyone know where such whistles and horns used to emanate from, as they would have to be loud enough to be heard over the engine sounds?
What kind of hand signals or other audio-visual signals are used today, aside from the normal signal lights?

If anyone has any other questions from the contents of this handbook, feel free to post them here.

Cheers,
Mark
