My Märklin 01 147 replaced the original Kompakt-Sinus driver board by a new SoftDriveSinus board (for free!) but the LED was still yellow. Therefore, I decided to solder new warm-white LEDs for the front and rear head light.

For this I bought SMD LEDs of type 0805. These fit better into the solder place, but they are still a bit too short.

On the other side, the LED for the upper front head light is a bit too wide. It would be better to have a smaller one, because this LED must fit into a very small gap:

The front head light looks well, the lower lamps may be shine a bit diffuse because of the very long fiber optic. But I think it is much better then the very opaque yellow lights:

There is much space left in the tender and Märklin spent three LEDs for the tender head lights:
