Many years ago I was offered a very used Transfer table , I had no use or space for it at the time so it sat languishing away in a well hidden box . I did not try to use it when I first received it so wasn't sure if it worked . Yesterday I decided that it would look perfect on the new layout along with 2 Turntables . I have no control box for the item but worked out that it was a DC motor . On applying power there was no movement at all of the armature so out with the multimeter & found that 2 coils are burnt out which reverts to the complete motor having to be changed .

I have checked the spare parts list at "M" but can not see any reference to the 7294 because it is not made any more . There is a diagram on another spare's list that shows the bridge body & motor was available as 1 unit . Does any one have a exploded parts list of the transfer table & is able to enlighten me as to any part number for the whole motor which sits beneath the control cabin of the transfer bridge .

If possible , is there also a full circuit of the small control box with the single slide switch , I imagine there would have to be a couple of diodes in there to change from AC from the transformer to DC required for the motor or is there a spare control gathering dust in some ones layout room .

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You will find the only documents I've ever found on this TT below ...

The diagram, including part numbers ;

41660 - Complete bridge assembly

41684 - Motor

60146 - Brushes

41685 - Switch (control box, being sold on eBay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/M...&hash=item2ed0acdcb2 )

The manual is attached in pdf, I believe it also serves for the 72941 model

Hi Tom,

Opened my 7294 control box and took a photo.

Inside i found a 25ohm resistor, a four tab grey "box" and
a brown capacitor? with markings 0,047M 250MKT.

Best regards
Åke

Thanks guys for the quick info . Looks like I am buying the control box immediately & will have to do a search for the motor on different dealers websites . A quick look at the printed circuit board indicates the capacitor is across the input from a transformer , the 4 tag grey item would have to be a bridge rectifier & the 25 ohm resistor is a voltage reducer . The 3 wires on the right top are red ,green & black going left to right which connect to the motor on the bridge ,just not sure why 3 connections yet .

Thanks again Tom in Oz

I am controlling mine digitally through a K84 decoder + some diodes. No need for the control box in that case. There is a topic on that in this forum, on how you have to connect it. MAybe that is more what you want?

The TT uses a DC motor but the motor is driven using a half-wave AC voltage, it makes a lot of noise. The 4 tab grey box is a bridge rectifier BTW.

One is common, one is a constant half wave 'DC' voltage, the other one is the same half wave voltage, but it is only applied when you press the button to start the movement of the bridge . This way, as soon as the bridge is started to move it uses the constant voltage and does not need the move button pressed all the time. There are contacts on the bridge that disconnect the constant voltage when the bridge is at a track. That way it stops (more or less) nicely in front of the tracks each time.

Although I have a CS1 reload & having been a telephone tech when computers were started to being used in Telephony I have found that I am somewhat computer illiterate with modern technology . I am quite happy to wander around the layout manually changing points & setting turntables or transfer tables . Just a little bit of brain & also physical exercise while enjoying yourself . I have just purchased a control box on Epay from the Netherlands & hopefully it should arrive by the end of next week , now to find a replacement motor for the bridge of the table .

Thanks guys for all hints , this place always [well almost ] comes to the assistance of members with the correct answer .

Cheers Tom in Oz

PS to our webmaster , maybe a sticky which combines the Transfer Table & the Turntable problems for future enquires in the years to follow .

Hi,

Motor 416840 is available at Märklin Online Shop so your local dealer should be able to order one for you.

I am going to order one (for spare part) as it seems to be quite fragile build.

Cheers

I was able to access the manual from the link on that site (even though there are a couple of posts that indicate the site with the manual is closed).

Thanks Åke, I always forget in my searches to try adding an "E" and a "0" to old part numbers ... ^^ !

Yes Alan,

Poor guy ... if you click on the 1956 Catalog icon on that site you arrive to the hacked page attached below ... maybe at one point the whole site was down ?

I remember this thread well as I did go through almost 170 JPG files on that site to make one single 0303 PDF file which y'all can find here :
http://www.sys-multimedi...Digitally-Controlled.pdf
... yep, first page is blank for printing purposes ...

While we're getting slightly OT, I'd just remind us of a great database project where all this stuff "should/could" go :
https://www.marklin-user...ructions.aspx#post397080

... and will hope you'll oblige before my own site gets hacked one day, by who or whatever ;P

I have just ordered the motor from Toottoot in NZ & they have placed it on their next order from Germany along with a few other small parts which are not normally held in shops for my 34251 . As I have said before , the members of this forum go more than the usual kilometre to help others with their problems .

Thanks guys & have a nice glass of wine on me .

Cheers Tom in Oz

Ah, thanks for going to that effort. Have downloaded your PDF myself now, wasn't looking forward to downloading all those pages, and wasn't inclined to bother as I have a hard copy anyway, but your PDF is worth it to have an electronic copy available.
