Hi, Christian,

AFAIK there are several key combinations that allow you to start the rescue mode with DHCP or a fixed IP address.
Then you should be able to use the web interface to upload new firmware to the ECoS.

Maybe a key is locked, triggering the rescue mode during boot. Or is this the result of a failed firmware upgrade?
Regards
Tom

Did you use DHCP? Did you use a fixed IP address?
The manual shows which keys you have to press while you power up the ECoS to select how the IP address is determined.

According to the manual you have to hold Stop and F6 (key 7) while you plug in and until the Rescue screen shows.
The ECoS should now have IP address 192.168.1.151/24.
Setting the PC to a different address in the 192.168.1.x net (x not 0, 151, or 255, subnet mask 255.255.255.0) should give you access to the ECoS via the browser.

So far I never had upgrade problems with my "ECoS" 60212 and never needed the Rescue mode.

I hope I'll never need the Rescue mode. But good to know it worked for you.

Wow! This saved my day.
The programming track of my old CS Relaoded gave up about a week ago. I tried to open it and check but gave up. My friend/local dealer had an old CSR with version 3.0.1 and I was welcome to try an update. He wouldn't be able to sell it anyway. I installed 3.7.0 OK but the 4.0.0 Rescue update just froze in rescue mode. After reading this thread I did a modified version.
The PC was connected with a crossed ethernet cable to the CSR. The CSR was started acording to Toms instruction (STOP, F6 and power on). The IP address was different but I typed it in my browser and the web page showed up. Version 4.0.0 was chosen and the update was OK. Now it has version 4.2.8 and is sold to me. I can still use the faulty one outdoors for my OneGauge and this one indoors for Z and programming.
Thank you Tom!
