Hi all,
OK, this is a FANTASY competition, for fun. It is a game only.
You get to choose ONE Marklin model locomotive, in a colour scheme of your choice.
Only ONE locomotive will ever be made so it may become a collectors item.
The locomotive need not have existed in real life. You need to choose an era, a colour scheme, and lining-out. And you can explain your reasoning if you want.
What loco would you choose?

Fine print rules:
It is a worldwide competition.
You are invited to nominate a single locomotive, in gauge 1, HO, N or Z. You will be able to purchase the locomotive for a 50% premium on a present day selling price of the model.
There will be only one winner, chosen by drawing lots. The winner will be able to own a unique model. Only one will be made, and it could become a collector's item.
It is a competition of chance.
You can enter only once.
You must nominate a locomotive that has been manufactured by Marklin since 01.01.1995. The locomotive will be assembled and painted to your design. If HO, the locomotive will be digital MFX+. No modification to the mechanism or body will be allowed, except for decorative devices and simple detail enhancements that can be machined by hand (limited to 4 pieces).

Other members can nominate other rules if desired, this is just the basic idea.
This competition is NOT REAL, this is a FANTASY competition.

regards
Kimball

I will start the ball rolling.

My fantasy entrant is the Marklin Big Boy, like 37994, with the smoke deflectors.
UP #4019.

I would like to see a HO gauge Union Pacific Big Boy (like 37994) with the smoke deflectors, painted in the color scheme used by UP for the M 10000 in 1934, as pictured below.

I would like to see modern DBAG locos (Br101, 152, 159 etc) in the old Turquoise/Beige or TEE Red/Cream colours.

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

It´s funny that my initial thought is exactly in the lines of RayF´s, albeit in the other direction; I would like to see a BR01 or BR03 steamer in classic TEE colours, or beige/turquoise. (Epoc III and IV)
