Hi,

At last my dreams come true!!!
I have written to Vollmer and Faller and suggested that they would take some old kits back in to produktion. Vollmer is now sold but long live Faller! ThumpUp

I wonder how the boxes of these new classic kits looks.
I sure hope they look like the 1960s boxes.

This is a great offering from Faller with some interesting new kits, I love the modern station building, and the return of the classic kits will be very welcome, I hope others will be able to follow.

Also at the end of the brochure they make reference to Walthers and Cornerstone kits, I have quite a few of these kits and find them so far quite good, covering interesting industrial scenes, have Faller bought them or teamed up with them????

They may be becoming a European distributor, like Noch are for Woodlands Scenics and Kato.

I wonder if they will bring back the arcade walls that go with the Trix Dammtor station, the only way to get them at the moment is to buy the Faller S-Bahn station as that is the only kit currently marketed with the elevated brick walls.

I always admired the B111 'Neustadt' kit when I was a kid. Not sure that I've got room on my layout for a fourth station though.

Well, both models (#109111 and #109257) are already on the Faller website, but the delivery has delayed, see here: FALLER

B-111 / #109111 is a must have for me with a great story.
The 1:1 prototype of Station Neustadt can be found in Goch (Germany), it was built in 1957.
In the early 60s a MMR shop in Goch asked the Faller brothers to take the Goch station in the Faller program and indeed Faller did in 1966 !

Some more pics I found and borrowed on a German forum...

Faller did a great job in modeling the 1:1 prototype.

Great news! I wish I had the room for that station. I do have room for the Faller high rise I had years ago. I would love them to make a new

version of it in retro style of course of the B-905. I have sent Faller an email about this. Who knows?. Cool Peter

Good suggestion, Peter ! ThumpUp
A couple of months ago, I too asked Faller on their Facebook page for the return of B-905 as well as B-215 in the original colors which the model was introduced in in 1961

Other 1960s models I would love to see return are B-252, B-253 (2x villa with balcony), B-269 (village pub) and a few more ...

But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

No, the delivery of these retro kits is delayed.
Many people have pre ordered them and already paid, so I guess they will come soon.

Missed this thread!
Would love to build some of these 1950s classics!!
I was also curious if they are really out.
Only found these two on the Faller website

Hi,

I asked from Faller when the Klassiker line kits will be available and got following answer:

Dear Mr. Wallenius ,

thank you for your patience.

FALLER Klassiker kits should be available by mid of the year.

Best regards

Time will tell...

Yes, many people asked Faller on Facebook and such for a comeback of B-271 as a classic kit.
The best thing is that the boxes for the classic series are in the old 60's style and the series will continue in 2017 with more classic models.
Woot Woot Woot
When Faller announced the classic series I have asked them on Facebook for the return of B-215 and I think there is a 50/50 chance that they will do that.
Not because I've asked them, but because B-215 is a true 1960 cult model, just as B-271 and B-111.

If you look closely you can see that the number B-111 on te retro/replica box is printed in black.
it's just a small detail, but as I see it that's a bit disappointing.
In 1966 B-111 was released in a box with red number, later in the 60s this number was changed in black printing.
I think it would have been nicer if the retro-replica box came with a red number B-111 so in the same box as the kit was first released with, but maybe that's just me.

It may be that they don't have the printing plates for the earlier version box anymore, but do have the later ones.

Gee I wonder who he person from Waterfall Creek would be ? What with the WarBirds down under air show & model trains it would be very hard to decide which way to go when the air show is on . The Son & I are attending the Air show this year & staying at Luggate , he has media passes for both of us as he is involved in a E Zine called " Aviation Spotters Online " . I could not convince him to also do a M spotters on line .

Hello Alan,

Your 111 kit is from 2000.

The number '111' has been issued to different 3 models:

  • Station Flüelen (1952-1960)
  • Station Neustadt (1966-1983) and that is now back in the program in the classic series.
  • And your station Neustadt-Weinstrasse that started as a special anniversary model in 1996 "50 years Faller''

However, your 111 kit is not in the special anniversary box from 1996 but from a couple of years later.
The box on your picture has a lot of features from the boxes from the year 2000, so for 99% sure I can date it as 2000

Your Neustadt-Weinstrasse 111 kit is still in the Faller program as #110111 and is quite an expensive kit (€ 159,99).Scared

Not sure where to put this one,
Sorry if its out of place but I heard that some of faller's older model kits had some sort of residue on them from the molds, which prevented them from glueing together nicely.
Is this just lore?
By the way, I came across a nice old Faller kit, a small alpine house, and I am excited to put it together. It seems the technique of assembling buildings has changed greatly, or at least the order assembly within the instructions.
Best Regards,
Matthew
