Consist suggestions:

37325 - 43340 - 43874 - 42910 - 42920 - 42920 - 42920
IC "Barbarossa" Stuttgart - Milano

37359 - 43306 - 43307 - 43875
IC "Schweizerland" or IC Tiziano

I will likely be using the 43874 with my Trix 23414 Riviera Express coaches and a few 1960s DB UIC-X coaches. It should make a nice consist behind one of my Era III/IVa Ae 6/6s.

I may go for the OBB Eurofimas to reproduce a 1980s "Transalpin" consist. Unfortunately, there is no OBB diner announced.
I already have the 43858 and 43927 so I am not quite sure what I will do if I want to get the DB Avmz from the 43307 Set.

Just a quick note about the 37202 Am 840 (G 2000). These locomotives are not regularly used in Switzerland. They are registered to SBB Cargo Italy (now SBB Cargo International) and based in Chiasso and can be seen mainly in northern Italy.

Lots of good stuff this year, but I was hoping to see 186/486's in BLS & Railpool paint schemes. Probably will get the Piko version of these as well as the Piko BR 187 in BLS/Railpool paint. I think the 42152 and 42160 sets are 1/100...can anyone confirm?

The 42152 and 42160 sets are 1/100 (264mm) as stated in my original post and can be used in combination with the 42169, 42166 or 42164 Sets.
I should add that current push-pull consists can now also include the Eurocity type Apm or Bpm, which are available on ebay from the 29463 set. An additional set (43672) of 5 coaches is due out in the next few months.

A Re 486 of the BLS is coming from Roco (79651) in the coming months. It will probably be nicer than the Piko version. Roco and ACME have both announced models of the BR 187 class, including the BLS/Railpool versions.

Mike - thanks for the info!

The 43874 Wrm - is this a RIC type, similar to Lilliput 88050/388024?

Why it has been announced as "First time available as a single car"?
Have I a missed a Mä set?

43340 Am SBB Eurofima
Any reason why Mä only provides 1st class, like with 4162 and 4267 in the past?

The diner was originally included as part of the 26557 TEE "Bavaria" Set. One of the Donauworth RIC diners was repainted in 1971 to match the DB TEE coaches after the RAm Diesel Trainset was withdrawn from that route after the accident at Aitrang. The red version of the diner is the first time that this SBB diner has been available on it's own, but it is not a new form.

The SBB ordered 20 of the A9 VSE (Voiture Standard Europeen) or Eurofima coaches, which were delivered in 1976/77. AFAIR the DB and SNCF also ordered only 1st class coaches, while other railroads ordered both first and second class coaches (SNCB, OBB, FS). The DB later introduced it's own series of similar 2nd class coaches Bpmz (open seating) while the SNCF developed it's own series of coaches (both 1st and 2nd class). The SBB ordered a series of 2nd class coaches which were outfitted as couchette cars, with 10 compartments plus attendant. The SNCB later converted some of it's 2nd class coaches to the same design. As far as 2nd class coaches, the SBB was in the process of accepting delivery of the final batch of RIC coaches and they had these coaches painted to match the Eurofima colours. http://www.railfaneurope...RIC/Bm51/Bm51_orange.jpg
A number of the WRm RIC were also repainted in the same orange livery. http://www.railfaneurope...taurant/RIC/WRSBB_MI.jpg
A few years later, the SBB commissioned a number of 2nd class open seating coaches, based on the Eurofima LHB (Linke Hoffmann Busch) design which went into service in 1979. http://www.railfaneurope...m61-B50/sbb19990128A.jpg
Those coaches were also painted in the same orange livery, but they require a different mold than the Eurofima coaches.
To date, only Heris (RailTop) and LS Models have made models of those coaches. Maerklin did release a model of this coach in several liveries (4366, 42163) which was basically a DB Apmz model in SBB colours.

To complete a consist with the SBB Eurofima, I will be using the new red Maerklin diner and adding a number of FS Eurofima coaches and maybe some older Roco EWIV coaches (44470-44473), which were also 1/93 to complete the consist.

Other options to combine the SBB coaches in consists include mixing with DB coaches (e.g. Zurich to Munich), mixing with SNCB coaches (CH to Bruxelles) or mixing with OBB coaches (Basel to Vienna).
