Hi, I just brought out my old trains from the 90s. I have a 2664 digital loco. I just bought a new digital starter set with the MS2. When I run the loco the front lights are constantly on. This happens with my old delta set up as well. The lights do not change over with direction. When I use the ms2 to digitally turn on the lights, only the rear can be turned on/off when the loco is in reverse, the front lights remain on. In forward mode turning the lites on/off with the ms2 has no effect, the front lights are a always on. Any ideas?

Hi!
Welcome to the forum.

Probably a defect of the decoder.
Regards
Tom

I agree with Tom. I have this fault on one of my locos, caused by the front light output having blown on the decoder. I haven't got around to changing it yet, but I will have to at some point.

Meanwhile I took the bulb out of the holder and run the loco with the other end leading!

I didnt know these decoders could fail like this. Do you have to replace the whole decoder? Good Idea to remove the light and run the other way. Or if I get motivated I could rewire the front light to the rear light wires.BigGrin

If you do that you'll also have to reverse the wires to the motor, otherwise the lights will be on when running in the wrong direction! BigGrin
