I am Marklin newbie and need good graphics or video that show how to adjust the relex couplers, both older and newer. I have a nice old TM 800 with old style coupler and cars with mixed ols and newer style. I also have have the adjustment gauge but can't seem to get the hang of bending the coupler components correctly.

Hello mcnall, do you have the instruction notes to go with the adjustment gauge? I have a gauge and supporting document. All of my marklin engines and carriages are pre 70s and i am working through them slowly. Regards Ken

I do not have any instructions that came with the gauge. Would certainly appreciate getting any visual material on the adjustment process. Thanks

All I get there is a Marklin gif image, it doesn't allow you to download the file.

Right click and "copy shortcut" then paste into address bar will see you right
Sad when its cheaper to buy a new 29640 starter set from Germany than a CS2 on its own in Oz, welcome to the joys of Marklin down under .

The document i have has been attached by another group member. This should get you the usage of the gauge.

To set the height, I bend the coupling up or down at the coupling bend adjacent the carriage or engine, this if outboard of the coupling attachment pin. Use needle nose pliars and hold the coupling firmly to body attachment point.

To set the 12 to 15 degree angle on coupling, I have made a guide from cardboard with a vertical line from the base and two lines - one at 12 degrees and one at 15 degrees. I hold behind the gauge and coupling to see that i am in between the two angled lines. If not, use the needle nose pliars and bend the coupling buffer forward or rearward until you achieve the 12 to 15 degree recommended angle.

Thanks for the information. Worked on one car and adjustment is much better. Will definitely need to get some smaller needle nose pliers.
