Hello,
I replaced the motor and decoder of my new 03 156 with the 60760 set. For this, I had to create a circuit board to connect all necessary cables and the rear haed light and rear light.

It is made very simple, no professional work, of course. But it works fine. Next, I will activate F1 and F3 for the red rear light in the tender and the steam generator.

Later, as final step, there may be a mtc21 adapter for a good sound decoder. But for now, this one is OK.

Very good! ThumpUp

I've never seen a Steam Loco with red rear lights. Did they carry them often?

You are right, the old steam loco had red signal cards, which were put onto the bumper or in front of the head light.

But it was a official requiremt to signal the end of a train / loco.

Therefore, because I don't have such tiny sognal cards, I prefer to have a red rear light instead of nothing.

Great thanks!

I guess these red lamps must have been installed in the steam locos in later years. The Br03 in the photo is an 03.10 with computer number, so Era IV.

Yes of course! In the past, they uses either plates (white circle) on day and red glas covering only one rear light for the night.

But they had to signal the end, at night with red light. But it wasn't build in.

I'm sorry, but my digital camera can't reproduce the real red rear light. In real, it looks like this picture from a 03 in a german railway station: http://www.bahnbilder.de...nder-zu-sehen-123560.jpg

Hi Moritz,

LED light is monochromatic, meaning that only a single frequency of light is produced. If this does not align well with the frequency that your camera's red CCD sensors are sensitive to then the colour will not be reproduced accurately.

This also happens with some colour dyes and pigments in paints, which reflect only specific frequencies, making the colours very difficult to reproduce on electronic devices. The human eye has no such failing of course, unless you suffer from some forms of colour blindness. Chemical photographic film was similarly more tolerant.

Hello Ray,
yes, this seems to be the problem. Maybe, it is a typical problem of Fuji cams, I may try with my mobile, but the mobile cam is a very bad one.

The Panasonic camcorder works a bit better with red lights, but still unsatisfying.
