Hello

I¨m new here and got one idea, would be good if Märklin could produce one curved turnout. For radius 600mm, both for C and K track.

It would be easy to build one station and lay out one in an 600mm curv.

Better work with the bigger radius and the wide radius turnout.

The Best

Hi,

If you have enough money and no patience for M* coming up with a new curved wide-radius C-track turnout, try "Weichen-Walter" in Germany - see hyperlink:

The R4/R5 curved turnout looks awesome. I wonder if it's possible to install a motor and a decoder in it.

Hello

Thank you Alsterstreek, yes Walther-weichen are fine but not cheap. Do they work and do locomotives run well ?. Anyone ?.

I like to see my Märklin locos run on finescale track, and working for that.

Some of the turnouts presented on that website come pre-equipped. Since he works on order, it should not be a problem to order fully equipped with motor and decoder.

No idea. Some people on German fora expressed satisfaction...

When I myself fiddled around with the R1 curved layout - sawing off C-track and connecting it again with K-track connectors, I never had operational problems.

Weichen walter also supply the centre stud strip for use with Peco code 75 or code 100 track (and other makes, but you have to let them know at time of ordering). They have a photo collection of how to lay the strip and track on their web site. I have bought about 10 metres worth of stud strip from them, It is supplied as etched nickel-silver, and needs to be cut out of the plate, rather like an etched brass kit.

So it would be possible to lay your own track using Peco track, or hand lay track starting with something like a Templot trackplan, setting the sleeper spacing to something suitable for the Weichan Walter stud strips. Templot is free - your PC just needs to be connected to the internet when you start the program.
