I'm trying to find a ballpark estimate as to what years these were made. Also, if anyone happens to know the item number that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Fred. It's the very popular home signal 7039. Made from 1953 until about 2005ish. I still have a few too. Cheers,Peter Smile

Excellent, thank you. Is there any way to pin down the exact year?

Hi Fred, Only if you have the original box. You can try emailing Märklin in Germany. They will answer you back in English. I do not think there is a

way but who knows? It may be worth a try. Peter Smile

Well, it's not THAT big of a deal. Really more of a curiosity.

Thank you.

Hi Fred,

a better photo and also a photo from the underside would help to find the more or less exact year. Yours is at least an earlier one before ~1960: It still has the old triangle-shaped contact-plates for connecting the signal to the center-rail. From 1961 these contact-plates had a square shape.

Regards

Markus
