Hi,
This afternoon I received my 15-years forum celebration wagon !! Woot ThumpUp

Of course the package was thoroughly inspected.
My cats reported that there was a slight foreign exotic cat smell on the package - most likely from a scandinavian cat - but everything else was just fine and approved !!

The instruction paper tells the wagon works on M-, K- and C-track but I can say it works fine on 3600 track as well !!

Thank you Juhan for all your efforts, it is highly appreciated !! ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp

Marco

As you can see, the decals on the wagon are not perfect.... Sad
I am not happy about that.... Sad

But I am happy with the wooden box, do you have a crane to test it with ?.... Wink

I'm surprised you got the cats to sit still long enough to pose with the wagon. Was there canned tuna around somewhere??

Looks good Marco, Juhan has done a great job with the wagons.

As I have 2 cranes, no doubt they will be used to test the box lifting process when my wagon arrives.

Hello Juhan,

Regards,

PJ

I can see why Juhan is not happy with them, when looking at Ians photos. It looks like the carrier sheet for the decals hasn't gone into the surface texturing leaving a visible 'window' of film.

See last picture in this post ...

Still, I await my wagon with anticipation Drool

And thanks to that, the final coat of matte seeped through behind decals at the "wagon sideboard texturing" leaving a milky residue behind the decals in some places...
Some are ok, but some I am not happy with... I will try to rectify that as much as possible with the 2nd batch...

I don't know about collector value; I plan to run mine on my layout as much as I can to show it off! BigGrin

I'm still waiting for mine. Even if it is in the first batch (I haven't asked Webby about it) it will take twice as long to get here as to other destinations. I have no idea why, but I have a suspicion it's got something to do with the mail being routed through Spain....

I'm not worried about it though; it will be most welcome whenever it arrives. ThumpUp

To me it seems like the Aussie parcels are sent via NZ...
From NZ they are then shipped the final leg to Australia with Maori canoes...

That's my theory... BigGrin

Thanks for the package Juhan

But there is no way I'm sending it to Australia - even if I could find a waka

I am glad I read about removing the rubber bands - I really do not think I could cope with their Yellow and Green colour for long.

NZ Post are well synchronised today, mine came as well - and it's only fitting to match with a 'country of origin' Loco.

Excellent piece of workmanship and has pride of place. I wonder who can be first to get a group photo in one location with the most wagons?

MMRC NZr's, next Friday night, bring yours.

Well, the Aussie postal services are well known to have a slow distribution compared to the rest of the world... Maybe the US post is at the same level at times, but mostly still better...

The NZ:ers enjoy more normal delivery times as we also have outside Australia...
Funny, packages sent from Australia arrive in the rest of the world within reasonable...

Ahhh... Now I know after watching several episodes of the "Borderwatch Australia" or whatever
the name of the tv show is... They have to scan all packs for drugs, possible bug infestion as well
as if it's food or not... The product sheet says that the wooden container is not edible, but it might
be inspected for woodworms even though there are 5 layers of protective laquer sealing on it... BigGrin

When we were in the UK, earlier this year, I bought a sword - blunted of course. As I knew it would not fit in our baggage (it was a BIG sword), I had it shipped to here.. I got the third degree from Customs when it arrived in Australia.
It took me a week of sorting out - they we under some impression that I had stolen the thing from an English castle.. Even English Heritage were involved in the debacle.. Sigh! And I had to bolt the sword to the wall so it can not be used.. (not actually a Customs requirement - that was another agency)..

I had the same problem with Gandalf's staff that I had imported form Hobbiton in NZ.. It seems that a Wizard staff is a weapon.. Double sigh.. Also bolted to the wall.. I know that they are looking after us, but sometimes..

Certainly will bring it on Friday, along with the 10 year car. You'd better email Clappers to make sure he brings his. I don't think Jan or anyone else (that I know of) have ordered - Jan isn't a member here AFAIK.
