My CS 2 came back from being repaired. While at Marklin they updated the software in it.

My problem is that no matter what I do it will not connect to either my iPads or iPhone. I have tried resetting as per Dr. Catherall's web site without success. Before the update there were no problems.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what solutions?

For a month I have been trying to find a solution to this problem.

Last night, after posting this topic, I checked the wiring of the D Links. I found the DSL line to the home unit was unplugged.Blushing Moral of the story, check if everything is plugged in.
Please ignore my earlier post, better yet never mention it to me again.

I had a similar problem with updating the CS2 a while ago...

I thought I had destroyed the CS2 with a failed update, since the Internet update failed all the time...
Nor could I connect to it with the wireless iThingies... Tried for at least 2 days...

Showed that the network switch where my PowerLan connects (CS2 connected via PowerLan) had hung
and needed a restart... Had a huge sigh of relief after discovering that... Actually it was when the TV did not
get an Internet connection I realised the common factor - the switch...

So checking all cables first is a very good advice indeed... Wink

Also a bit Blushing when I noticed that... BigGrin

By itself, an unplugged DSL connection will not prevent a network connection between an iThingy and a CS2 via the WAP

If plugging in the DSL cable did get you going then it is more likely that your iThings are setup to expect an internet connection (that is provided over DSL) and spit the dummy (wont go any further) when it can't find it.

If you wish to run a standalone (non internet connected) Wireless LAN, you will find a setting in your iThingy to not expect an internet connection. This will allow it to stay connected to the WAP even if no internet exists.
