Hi all!

I have a question about oiling two of my locos. They are Roco (the only ones that i have from this brand), and my question is, can i use Marklin oil and Trix grease (if necessary) on them?

Best Regards!

Miguel

Hi Miguel

LIke you, I have a number of Roco locos. However, I use LaBelle grease and oils, because they have a good reputation for being quality products, they make plastic compatible products, and are readily available from hobby shops here in Australia. The principal issue is whether the Marklin oil and Trix grease are plastic compatible as Roco locomotives use plastic gears. Marklin have traditionally used mainly metal for gears, though I have noticed that they are using more plastic gears in recent models (no doubt an economy measure). As a consequence of this fact, I would imagine that the Marklin oil and Trix grease are safe to use, but as I do not have these products, I do not know for certain.

Regards
Geoff
