Hi,

I have a kit with an MS2 and a basic 36VA power supply.

I have 2 trains, currently not with lit coaches but that will probably come, 2 electric points (no lantern, but might get that later) and 3 uncouplers.

How close am I to maxing out my 36VA power supply?

Also, I can't find any detailed information about how boosters connect.

Can boosters be used with just the MS2 and 36VA supply?

Thanks

Hi,

AFAIK it is not possible to connect boosters to MS2 (or MS1): the CU 6021 and the newer Control Stations have the hardware (external sockets) for the booster connection.

Cheers

The Marklin 60129 "Connect6017" might be one option.
It has been discontinued, however I note LokShop has yet to run-out.

This is a parasitic device that takes the signal from the track - rather than the controller directly
Similar workarounds use the DeltaControl in a similar manner (But these do not offer booster connection)
Other homemade variants are available

Your mileage may vary if you want MM, DCC, MFX all together......
DCC and MFX will , only work in one direction (as designed, although you will find backfeed circuits for mFX on this forum)

Sorry for squeezing in my query here. How many locos can one MS2 with power supply support (without boosters)?

I know that the power supply that comes with Marklin My World start up packages can manage a maximum of upto 2 locos

Madhu
