I recently decided to start some "serious" cleaning and servicing of my locos. Its been a looooong time since I did any servicing...funny how time just flies when you're having fun running trains all the time....Well, at first I couldn't see which of the wheels were supposed to have tires - there was so much gunk on some of the wheels, it looked as if they all had tires Scared
So, I have spent the past few days scraping off the gunk, and using lighter fluid to give the wheels a good clean. Strangely many of the tender wheels seem to accumulate more grime than the drive wheels...Confused
Then it was off with the bodies - not always so straight forward on some modelsAngry - and a little oil or grease in the correct places, keeping in mind the warning of many forum members to only use a little oil or grease....RollEyes
This was also a good time to put back all those little plastic hoses and trim that tend to fall off when derailments occur BigGrin
So, next task is to examine the rolling stock wheels......oh dear....Crying
Joe
