I found some pictures of the Würzburg tram system (texts are in German) taken during the 1970s:

Teil 1 - http://www.drehscheibe-o...oren/read.php?17,5149080

Teil 2 - http://www.drehscheibe-o...oren/read.php?17,5353318

Teil 3 - http://www.drehscheibe-o...oren/read.php?17,5362358

Enjoy the great classic photos.

Hi Florian

Thanks for the links to the pictures.ThumpUp

For me it's not just the trams, but the cars and vans of the era as well and seeing them as they were.

It's also interesting to see how the city itself has changed. Nearly all of the city center shown on the pictures is now pedestrian zone.

The old two-axled cars and four-axkled articulated cars (C-class) have been withdrawn from service by the mid-1970s to be replaced with articulated six-axled Düwag trams; unfortunately all of the old rolling stock ended up on the scrapyard Crying .

Very nice report and photos, Florian. My first trip to Germany was in 1972 and I do remember some of the advertisements from that period on the

sides of the trams. Wenn's um Geld geht (I believe this was Sparkasse Bank). Cheers, Peter ThumpUp Smile
