It's not about service Stephen, it's about how cheap they can send it.. That's why it goes through Switzerland..

Thanks for the information, I thought it was much slower than normal. There might be a problem at the printers.

Hi Steven,

I don't want to comment on the emotive assessment of what is "too" slow other than to ask that you correct your title.

I will comment that the assessment should not be as you have measured, instead it should be based on the scheduled delivery date.

The 5/2014 package has a target delivery date of 1 Oct.
The fact that the online version is available well in advance of this target date is a separate measurement to that of the hardcopy delivery.

And how about giving credit to Marklin for a) making the online Marklin New available online and b) making it available in English.

Peter

The online version is only 4 days before the "target delivery date". So Stephen's assessment is still correct. In any case, he is validly tracking a trend based on the first appearance of the Insider Magazine to delivery at his house. Australian Insider's typically get their copy two weeks after it arrives at Stephen's place, but there has been two occurrences when we got our parcel before Stephen. USA people usually get theirs after us.

It is now the 19th October and I have not heard anyone state that they have a copy yet. So I agree with Stephen that the delivery of this edition is too slow.

My Trix edition arrived in the UK while I was away, but the Marklin one hasn't turned up, I think the UK Post Office has lost it like they did the first of this years editions.

Got this note from marklin USA today in an insider update email

Quote:
Märklin Insider Mailing #5/2014
We want to update you on the mailing schedule for the #5 mailing. Printing of one of the inserts was delayed in Germany, and delivery to our mailing house of the magazines and inserts will be about two weeks off schedule. We are anticipating you will receive your #5 mailing in early-to-mid November. We apologize for this delay.

I haven't had #5 turn up as yet.
My credit card has not been charged for new membership which is due this month, is that the same for everybody or are we on an anniversary of when we joined ???

Edit; I actually have #4, it arrived late August as per my post in the thread about MM #4 Blushing

Edit; Collected my #5 package from my post box today (23rd) which I haven't checked since Monday (20th) night, so it's probably been there since Tuesday 21st Wink ThumpUp

Membership years are individual, depending on when they entered your data into the database.

I "joined" in March, I mean I sent them the form in March. My membership year started in September because they needed six months to enter my details into their database. That was seven years ago. I think they improved registration since then.
Regards
Tom

Six months to enter details into database? Scared

EDIT: confirmation received, prompt and friendly assistance from Club Team provided, no more problems with Membership.

As did mine.
Surely the NZ edition uses words of one syllable (or less) and lots of pictures...

Cheers,
Damon

Well at least you can make use of it after reading it by using it as fish and chip wrapping paper.

Not sure what you would do with the Aussie 'sex' edition!
