Being an insider I just received a mail from Märklin with the announcement of the S2/6. But it's not an insider loco.
Is of course era 1, so have to think about it. But I have some era 1 coaches. Might be nice for a museum train on my lay-out.
Have to see the documentation before I decide. According to that mail it's in the new catalogue.

In the newsletter Marklin says that S 2/6 is absolutely new production, non-Club item and will be presented at IMA on November 20-23, 2014 in Cologne.

Good news!

I think the S2/6 will be on my pre-order list. (...and no, I won't wait for someone to review it and be a spoilsport!)

26802 BR50 with junker
37015 S2/6 Bavarian

Already have a blue Brawa S2/6 (thanks to generous members), and am looking forward to a Märklin version,
just like I have waited for an original BR05 003 cab forward from Märklin for more than 15 years...

You can't have too many BR50's & airplane wagons...
And you can also see where the inspiration for the new marklin-users.net wagon load comes from in the 26802 set... BigGrin

It´s not verified if there is smoke generator already equipped with the steam locomotiv.
Brawa is more expensive, but there is more details and also smoke generator installed.

I received two emails from the "Marklin Insider Club web news" in the early hours (NZDT) of the 18th The first one had a faulty link to the brochure but a few hours later they sent a second one.

From a translated description of the Lokshop details page (because Rolland has not translated it as yet ?) in the shop which indeed BD is headed "2014 Herbst..."; The page also has excellent detail pics of the model ThumpUp
Link; http://shop.lokshop.de/p...?products_model=MAR37015

"37015 Schnellzug-Dampflok Bayer. S 2/6, K.Bay.Sts.B., Ep. I, Voll-Sound

Prototype:
The locomotive was presented at the National Exhibition in Nuremberg in the summer of 1906. The construction began in late 1905, the design and construction of the locomotive only lasted about 4 months. July 2, 1907 high-speed record with 154.5 km / h. Only one locomotive with the number 3201 built as a test vehicle. Original locomotive has been preserved and is now at the Nuremberg Transport Museum. Model: Completely new tooling. originally used on the order 1906-07, in progressive, windschnittigem design. Important for Trix as a recognized manufacturer Bavarian models. particularly intricate construction, mostly of metal. Partially open bar frame and open view under the boiler. Grosse driving wheels in fine metal version (in example 2.20 meters diameter). Detailed presentation of the freestanding brake linkage. mfx decoder / DCC decoder with full steam sound. high-efficiency propulsion with a flywheel in the boiler . Both drive wheels driven. 's cab lighting and oncoming trains separately controlled digitally. representation of kerosene lamps. The headlights are maintenance-free LEDs (LED). supply in high-quality wooden box. brochure on the history of S is 6.2. , see this article in a DC version in the Trix H0 assortment under item no. 22049"

So from this I wonder if the model is actually being made by Trix Confused

I'd seen pics of various models, the Brawa one in particular, but did not appreciate that there was only one ever made, and thankfully she was preserved. I saw her in Nuremberg for myself and below share a few of my photos Smile Just not sure that having seen the prototype justifies buying the model, but it helps, Wink as I recently bought the King Ludwig train situated around the corner in the Museum. Woot But that's another story RollEyes

EDIT; It seems another syndrome of Windows 8 has struck me. I have not bothered to set up Outlook and just read my email off the Yahoo server as I have done for two years now, since yahoo or telecom NZ (xtra) allowed some bug thru that stopped Outlook Express from downloading emails to my Inbox, which is not so bad as at least I can still get to the last two years of email, (& I can't access my old ones on the old drive, at the moment, as W8 doesn't have OL Express, just Outlook)
I have for years been using Outlook Express as a free and simple downsizing tool for photos, Outlook has that tool, I assume, and I shall have to set it up and see. Trouble is my new Computer has a small Solid State drive for program files, so I cannot download the emails directly which is why I haven't bothered with it, as two years of history and the future would overwhelm it.
So sorry guys I'll up load the pics when I can find a cheap way to reduce them, by setting up Outlook, or open an account with flicker or something Mad

Some shops the limit of the discount is 14% on MHI items, and Insider items around 10%.... for the rest items around 20-22%

Marklin want 10% discount limit on MHI 2/2014 and Fall new items. Maybe 2015 new items??

Some shops the limit of the discount is 14% on MHI items, and Insider items around 10%.... for the rest items around 78-80%

It wasn't so much the discount as the price for a br50 with 5 wagons ... OhMyGod

Seems a bit steep to me, especially as all the parts have been produced before.

With the 37015 Bavarian S 2/6 scheduled for release "end of Q4", I might be able to wangle it as a Christmas present....

The only thing is I don't have any suitable Bavarian express coaches. Does anyone have any suggestions for Marklin coaches or coach sets to go with this loco?

I would like to keep this as an all Marklin train, so I'm less willing to consider Brawa or other manufacturers unless I'm really desperate.

They said "...look as it did in 1906/1907..."....mmmh...;I would like to check on historical books...it could be that she had this livery twice, once before service in Palatinat Railways ?

Ray,
Your CIWL set could be more than plausible too...don't you think so ?

I suppose so, but I already have my Br 18.3 pulling those coaches. I wanted some green coaches to match the green of the loco, ideally!

S2/6 model from Brawa ref 655 is given as "from the year 1906"....what real color it is ?
i read on a book that original livery (from the beginning of its life) was blue (like other locomotives for fast trains ?)

So maybe this is a good opportunity to obtain these items for those who missed them the first time around!
