Hi all,

Ever since the late sixties, when the 5214 symmetrical three-way switch was released, we have seen it in the Märklin catalog in suggested combination with the three-stall locomotive shed.

I've always wondered if this combination is really prototypical. So far, I've never seen a photo of something like this in any locomotive yard view.

Has anyone seen this in real life, or is it just pure Märklin toy-train fantasy?!

Thanks in advance for your valuable input and photos, if any.
Best regards,
Armando García

Hi Armando,

I think it is just pure Märklin toy-train fantasy.
It is used to save space instead of the more prototypical turntable.

Cheers

Renato
