Hi

Somehow, whilst delving into the Mobile Station 2 menus I have messed up the control of my two locos.

With one loco only on the track and its card in the controller, when I switch on and press the stop key, the train accelerates to fullspeed and stays at that speed. Spinning the accelerator has no effect and nor does the lights.

This is the same for both trains, with or without cards in the MS2 controllers.

Can someone suggest how I can get them responding to the MFX controls again?

Ive tried removing them from the menu and restarting again and although the correct cards are recognised, the loco fails to respond.

Do I need to set up a separate programming track, although this isn't mentioned in either of the starter kits.

There doesn't seem to be a ill reset or factory reset for the loco or handsets

I assume you mean the MS2?

There is a factory reset, which I've found usually fixes self inflicted problems like yours. Hit shift and the spanner key, then scroll to the bottom and select factory default settings.

Good luck!

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Ray described where you can find the Reset for the handset.
Once you registered a loco with the loco card, you will find a loco reset somewhere under Edit Loco or so. With locos running at full speed, the reset may not work at the first attempt. So give it a few tries - with only one loco on the track.

Maybe you changed the addresses of the locos - and now they no longer respond to their default addresses. The loco cards use the default addresses.

Hi,

I once saw a similar issue with one of my locos, I think the decoder believes it is in analog mode. At any rate, I was able to fix it by issuing command to the loco (headlight on/off, change speed a couple of times). If the other suggestions do not work, you could give it a shot.
