Hello!

Märklin website have a huge sound library.

For instance: http://maerklin.de/de/produkte/tools_downloads/decoder-updates/soundbibliothek.html

And also have separate archives for each model of locomotive.

But, all sound files are supposed to be uploaded to the proprietary sound decoders...

The question: How to convert that files to a hearable wave file, to make possible to just copy them to a pendrive, and play it on the Sound menu?

Anyone with that knowledge? I searched around for the Märklin sound format, tools to make the conversion, but no program could do the job...
Binary editing the files show a header with (A)IFF statements, but no further informations...

Thanks!

Walter

I suspect the files will be encrypted in a similar manner to Loksound files, so you won't be able to do what you want with them.

Hello Alan.

Yes, I supposed that too... Meanwhile, I'm trying to 'cut the audio' from the files Märklin made available online... at least some announcements I could record.

Thanks!

Hello Macer!

No, I'm not Carioca. Cool
Carioca is a person that was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro... I'm from São Paulo. ThumpUp

If you could decrypt/listen the audios, don't forget to share the instructions! RollEyes

Cheers,

Walter

ps. and better talk in english here. It's more polite to other members. Wink

Hello all,

anyone on the Forum know of a source for .wav files or the like of trains crossing a steel bridge? I'm interested in doing a project with sound from a double span bridge when a train is on it...

Thanks,

Peter

Somewhere on the Marklin site you will find these 2 files;

D_DecoderTool_A5c.pdf
mDecoderTool-v100-Setup.msi

I have not used the programming tool as yet but my understanding is that you can create and edit sound files to upload to the decoders.

Ok, found it in my bookmarks;

http://www.maerklin.de/d...pdates/decoder-tool.html

I never found a English page for these but the manual is in German and English.

Remember to copy and paste the link.
Sad when its cheaper to buy a new 29640 starter set from Germany than a CS2 on its own in Oz, welcome to the joys of Marklin down under .

I don't know if its what you are after Jonas but there is also a;

"Bibliothek.zip" file which is also on the Marklin site that has a sound library in it as well. It may have been updated or renamed since April.

Most of the sounds found on the various decoders are in there, well at least up until the beginning of this year when I downloaded it. My understanding is you can also download the complete engine sound files and edit them as well, the ones on the site that is..... it was a bit vague about sucking the sound files off a decoder.

Once I get around to putting a sound decoder in my V32 my intention is to graft a Diesel and the BR78 piston Steam sounds together to hopefully get a fair representation of what I imagine it would have sounded like.

Best of luck with it.
