I wouldn't worry about different shades of red.

The new dining coach is a "new longer length" model - longer than the coaches you already have and at the same time narrower than it should be.
I avoid mixing 1:100 coaches and 28.2 cm coaches in one train

Tom, I did not know about the coach being narrower than it should be. I thought that it was only the scale length that was modified and not the scale width or height.
If the coaches are 27cm, then 28cm might not be too long for the restaurant coach. There may be other detail differences that make the combination visually unacceptable.

I bought both the 42990 and 42991 sets and was disappointed that neither set offered extra coaches to complete the consist. The Rheingold set was missing an Apmz and the Helvetia set was missing the restaurant and an Avmz.

The new sets offer modellers the chance to recreate the entire consist. For the Basel-Zurich-Basel section, I recommend the 43854 4-coach set and the 43856 restaurant. The other three coaches were added to the train between Basel and Hamburg.

Regards

Hmm, I'm sure someone will get around it - cash rebates etc, even unadvertised discounts for those who are major customers of a store ... BigGrin

I do not think it is as big of a thing as it is made to be. It is barely visible.
