I think the 26800 must be an astonishing set even though I will most probably not have it.

I wonder if the Br52 will be a new tooling or the old one?

This is the kind of thing they've been doing when they have a new tooling coming up and they want to get rid of their stock of the old tooling, so my guess is that we will have a brand new Br52 in the next new items brochure, with small can motor, open cab, and improved detailing on the body and running gear.

ThumpUp

They've already updated the Br01, Br03, Br23, Br24, Br38, Br41, Br50, and now looks like the Br52. I wonder when the Br44 will come? (Just looking at tender loco classes here, there have also been re-toolings of some of the tank locos like the Br74)

To prevent misunderstandings: we see a picture with two chaps checking the fall new items brochure before it gets printed.

Interesting to see that Maerklin has decided to bring out a new SBB Re 4/4II TEE as a fall new item. (Presumably 37349) Previously, Maerklin had released the 37343 as Re 4/4II 11161, one of the Re 4/4II used to pull the TEE Roland and TEE Helvetia (later also the TEE Arbalete) in Switzerland. Under the Trix DC brand, they released model 22148 of Re 4/4II 11250, one of the second batch of Re 4/4II TEE (based in Lausanne), which were used for the TEE Lemano (FS coaches and later also the TEE Cisalpin (SBB/SNCF Coaches). 11158-11161 were based in Basel and Luzern* (loco change at Luzern HB). 11249-11253 were based in Lausanne and used on runs between Vallorbe (SNCF) and Domodossola (FS).

There will also be a coach set and a restaurant with digital functions. If these coaches are designed to go with the Re 4/4II TEE, as pictured in the September downloadable calendar, this would suggest that this will be either the TEE Helvetia or the TEE Roland. (Right click and select "Open In New Tab/Window") http://medienpdb.maerkli.../wallpaper/1409_1024.jpg
Maerklin previously released a TEE Helvetia Set in 1/100 as 42991 and there was a Trix 12 Coach TEE Roland Set as 23477 (1/93).

Many Maerklin modellers managed to acquire the second Re 4/4II TEE (11250) as there were a number of dealers who offered shell swaps, as this was also the only way at the time for Trix modellers to get another loco than the previously available 22585 11162 Red and the 22148 TEE. The shell from the 29858/29859 set was the most common swap offered, followed by the plain green one from the 34341/37341.

I already have both of the Maerklin/Trix models, as well as 11159 from Hag and 11158 from Roco. I wonder whether Maerklin has simply decided to release an AC version of that Trix model or whether this model will have a new number. It will be interesting to see whether Maerklin has adapted the model so that the Swiss crest on the loco face is completely in the beige area. This would be an improvement over the prior models. I will also be looking to see how carefully Maerklin has rendered the dividing line between the red and beige sections, because both the earlier models were not as well painted as the Hag and Roco models.
For me, those are the main criteria in considering whether I will buy this model.

If the coaches are for the TEE Helvetia, that might make the coach set appealing. What would make it much more interesting would be if the coaches did not have the rounded roof ends. It would be nice to have a few of the other type.

Regards

Mike C

It is. Description in the new items brochure says it is "close to the prototype". Maybe the crest is just printed and not moulded (not raised).

The dining coach will be crowded with 6 Preiserlings (0 of them will move). Many light and sound functions. So it's not a remake of the old coach with the moving Preiserling.
Brochure indicates length scale 1:93.5 (but I guess the dining coach is 1:97.5 again).

According to the photos in the flyer, the Re 4/4II will be numbered 11252, one of the Lausanne locos, which is not 100% correct for the TEE Helvetia. The photos do show that the Swiss crest is correctly positioned higher than normal (for the red or green Re 4/4II) so it is placed entirely in the beige coloured section of the loco front. This makes the loco of greater interest to me.

The earlier Maerklin 37343/Trix 22744 and Trix 22148 all had the Swiss crest overlapping the red and beige border.

I had a look through the pdf, using google translate where I didn't understand the German.

I quite like the weathered E91. I think it looks great in front of those dump cars or the tanker car set. I might have to revisit my budget! BigGrin

I'm not into gauge 1, but that new Br75 is very impressive!

Interesting that the Central Station software will be available for PC. I am looking forward to more info on this.

This is a great set, although I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I want to order. I currently have the older Helvitia with essentially the same quality/level of coaches, with a 37343 loco and 42990/42991 coaches. The only problem is the red on the locomotive doesn't match the red on the cars.

Ideally I can just buy the dining car and be happy, but I'm scared that red won't match the cars I have (I can live with the loco being a hair different)

The question mark is what the final product will turn out like. If they sort out the loco road number and crest positioning I may just sell my whole set and upgrade to the new one, but its a huge additional cost I'd rather not spend.

I wonder if an email to marklin might get a few answers on the color match?

I wouldn't worry about different shades of red.

The new dining coach is a "new longer length" model - longer than the coaches you already have and at the same time narrower than it should be.
I avoid mixing 1:100 coaches and 28.2 cm coaches in one train

Tom

Thanks for the note Tom- I didn't even notice the length detail! That settles that then, looks like I'll upgrade to a full new set of coaches, and maybe keep my loco.

I believe it is totally prototypical for the shades not be the same on all cars and locos. Everything was not painted at the same time; and some rolling stock must have fared better than others.
Best regards,
Armando García
