Hello All,
I see in the catalog that there is no 10 pin extension cable for the MS2. Anybody come up with a solution to extend the length of the MS2 when it is connected to the front of a CS2 without cutting it and adding a homemade extension? I have an MS1 that I spliced the cable in the middle and added a 2m extension which operates fine. The ms2 is new and I hate to modify the cable fresh out of the box. Are there any other manufacturers that offer an extension cable?

thank you,
Craig

Hi!

The "clean all Märklin solution": cable 60126 (as many as needed), terminal 60125 (one for four MS2s), cable 60124 (one for each MS2). MS2 connected to the rear side of the CS2.

The "daredevil all Märklin solution": some people successfully used the 60126 cable to connect an MS2 to the front port of the CS2. It seems you can force the nine-pin plug into the ten-pin socket and the ten-pin plug into the nine-pin socket - the MS2 needs four pins only anyway.

The "3rd party solution": buy this cable:

Not sure if they deliver outside of Europe.

Tom

Another idea: you can use the 60124 cable to connect one MS2 at the rear side of the CS2. You can splice the 60124 cable and leave the MS2 intact.
You also need the 60125 if you want to extend more than one MS2 this way.

Tom,
Once again thank you. I think I understand you correctly. Looking at the M catalog, and the CS2 manual I think I have found this last solution.
The catalog states:

I believe this might be the 7 pin socket in the back of the CS2. I'm counting the rectangle in the middle as the 7th pin receptacle? It is listed as the Input connection in the CS2 manual p. 38 and is used for "Connections for a Central Station as an Auxiliary or Second Unit". page 42.

The 7-pin socket is marked "60173" (not on your picture).

OK, I understand now. I have a 60174 booster connected there, so in the end, I would need to get a 60125 box anyway.
Perhaps the third party option is the best. "The "3rd party solution": buy this cable:
