I saw on youtube a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY-2jVMoezs) of a person updating one Trix MS2 with a second one. The problem is that is is German, so I'm not totally sure which buttons to press. Could someone give me the correct sequence of steps to update my MS2 unit.

Thanks,

Stuart

I have never heard, that an master MS2 should upgrade to the second MS2 as slave with the latest version.
Just only with the CS2.

- From the later version MS2
- Shift/Spanner
- Scroll to "Update MS2" and select
- Confirm version is upgrade (not downgrade) and select Yes

Yes, if you connect the newer MS2 as the master and the older one as the slave you can then update the software on the old one to the version that's on the newer one.

I plan to do this later in the year if I buy a second MS2, or I might take my old one on my next business trip to Luxembourg where there is a dealer who can update it for me.

I am surprised that Marklin have not provided another means of updating software on these units, perhaps with a slot for a memory card, USB or something similar. Not everyone has access to a nearby Marklin dealer who can do the update for you, and I personally have no need for the facilities offered by a CS2 on my small 2m X 1m layout, so that update method is unlikely to be an option for me.

Perhaps this will be addressed in the MS3 when it appears?

The Slave can also upgrade the Master (this is essential as the MS2 with the lower serial number (and normally the older software) will be the Master automatically and there is no known way to select the Master manually).
