Well, a quick research showed:
BR 101
BR 120
BR 189 (various liveries)
BR 218 (maybe only shunting)
Siemens ES 64 dispolok (various liveries)

Have you tried Google?

I've seen several trains with black MRCE ES 64 F4 locos.
The pictures on Google also show BR 101 locos, BR 103, and some others.

Tom

The ES 64 F4 (189) were mainly used for the Holland-Germany section of the trips. From Germany to Switzerland, traction was normally BR 101, BR 120 and occasionally BR 115 (DB Autozug).
Traction in Switzerland was normally either Re 4/4II (single or double traction) or Re 460, depending on which train. Traction in Germany (North/East) was normally BR 101, BR 120 or ES 64 U2 (182) or ES 64 F4 (189). BR 218 or BR 232 may have been used on some routes where trains were diverted on non-electrified routes (i.e. Lindau-Munich) for the Zurich-Vienna train or between Hamburg and the Danish border.

Thanks AK, Tom and Mike. It looks to me as if CNLs are pulled by whatever is available, especially seeing that Box Express loco at the head of one.

The BoxXpress ES 64 U2 was operated by DB Fernverkehr AG. I do not know if it was leased from BoxXpress temporarily or whether it was leased from Siemens/MRCE and had not yet had it's BoxXpress decals removed.

I found this video on YouTube:

Thanks again Mike. As it so happens I have a couple of those BoxXpress locos, as well as a couple each of Br 120s and Br 101s, so I have a lot of choices!

I found this information on the BoxXpress ES64 U2 that can be seen in the photo/video:
http://www.railcolor.net...6263&action=portrait

The loco was leased to DB Fernverkehr for a few months in 2013, so it would only be appropriate for a small window. The red/white CNL coaches would be the best match, although one or two of the classic blue ones could also be appropriate.

Thanks Mike. In Z there isn't a whole lot of choice. The other week I bought a set of the classic blue coaches, which are not in the M* catalog. They're standard Z scale coaches with a custom paint job.
