This morning I happened by chance to come across a nice illustration of technical history: both the windmill (not very well kept) and its replacement, the steam-driven pump station, are now superseded by an electricity-powered pump that transports water from the low level of the "polder" to the canal that surrounds it (click photo for large version).

These objects are not open to the public. Hope they will be saved as especially the combination is interesting.
