I have Marklin HO with M track. I recently installed one Marklin 7192 Auto RR gate crossing and the matching Marklin 7193 Extension set (2 pcs of track).

In short, my working configuration consists of Marklin 5106 straight track...one 7192 Extension track (with red dots)... one 5106 straight track (with Auto RR gatehouse attached to the 5106 track)...and one 7192 track (with red dots)... 5106 straight track.

When the train approaches the gates go down and return to the upright position as soon as the train passes. Works just great.

My question is this: the gates go down too late...(in other words I want the gates to go down a bit sooner thus allowing for more warning and any traffic to clear the RR crossing before the train actually arrives at the crossing.) How can I get the gates to do down a bit sooner?

Thank You for your help

Jim Wallace

Marklin made two extension tracks for the M crossings. 5115, a full straight and 5116 a full curve. Line up the red dots along a side to make it work properly.

Edit: The track sections you will see on ebay with the jacks on the side for Marklin electric plugs is not what you want. The seller does not know what he has and has misidentified his product. The ones with red dots on one side at each end are the correct pieces.

But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.
