Hello,
Yes I'm new to Marklin but have questions on programing (most are not in English). I have just about bought all Digital equipment including Marklin 6043 that I'm looking for some kind of guidance for programing.
My layout has been getting pretty big now and I would like to see how many trains that I can have moving at one time.
Thank you.

If you post a diagram of the layout you will have an answer for your question.

The 6021 is from a time when everything was "programmed" with DIP switches - instructions came with the items.
I don't know a complete guide, but if you have specific questions, ask them here.

Assume 3 trains for a 6021 or a 6022 and add 3 trains for each booster 6015.
The power may be enough for 6 trains per unit, but you cannot safely assume this. Extra precautions are needed to use two 6021 or a 6021 and a 6022 at the same time.

Regards
Tom

Hello and Thanks,
I did find another transformer 6667 A, 1 6604 delta controller and 2 Delta modules.
The last post speaks of the 6021 and 6022 and what are the extra precautions for using 2 6021's and a mix 6021 and 6022 ?
it also stated that with extra 6015 I should be able to run another 3 trains.
My question is, for the digital units that I listed what units I need and what they control for my total power needs?

Hello All,
I just found a book to help me see a lot about Marklin digital. The book is Marklin Insider special edition (1998) all about how does Marklin digital works.
I have found so many topics on so many descriptions on Marklin units and decoders.

Hi and welcome

A good source of information is the Marklin book 0308 Getting started with Marklin digital ...

This was published during the era of the 6021 Control Unit that you have, and gives a pretty comprehensive description of all the digital components from that era.

I had a quick look on FleaBay and can only find German versions (there are english translations around)

Cheers

Hello every one in Marklin Ville,
Well, what a weekend it has been for my Marklin layout. I've been collecting so many things for my layout, that my layout table was never clean enough for me to actually be working on the layout and not sorting through more Train packages.
I am very impressed at the way my layout is looking as if I created the layout and posted it in the Marklin book that the layout currently resides in.
I will soon be posing a question as to out of the many controlling units that I have at my finger tips. What would be the best combination for my needs.
What I think is the driving force is the fact that I have found some unique parts like a six bay loco shed and a transfer table, let alone the many of models that I have highly detailed.

Good Day,
It is nice to here from Italy for my mom is full blood Italian.
I find that I really like tinkering on my Marklin train set, I think that I really love spending time working on it. I was going to put in the catenary and found that I made a upgrade to my layout by finding and adding a transfer table. The transfer table did not come with a catenary system, so I think that I'm going to put all catenary on hold.
With no catenary I've been able to wire signals and turnouts to the k83 decoders and have seen allot of the layout coming to life.
I'm really looking forwards to seeing how many trains I can run at one time.

Hi Ralph,

IMHO you can use the turntable without the catenary as the roundhouse in principle was intended for steam locomotives; you could park your electric or diesel locomotives on another part of the layout where the catenary is fitted (on open air, without shed).

Cheers

A copy of the Marklin 6021 manual was posted in this thread - see post #26.

Yeah, but a "complete guide" covering the 6021 and all the available satellite boxes (memory, keyboard, interface, ...) is not publicly available AFAIK.
