I have an steam locomotiv B VI from Trix.
In this locomotiv did Märklin/Trix added what i see is peat wood.
But i have decides to use real wood to put on the tender,so i wonder how did peat wood really looks liked in prototype...?
Do anybody who knows how it did looked like?
Is there pictures?

I think peat is more like turf or sod rather than 'wood'.

I need to only dirt peat wood on the tender,since it looks like plasticky appearance from the factory.

This is a peat brick I "liberated" when I was in Ireland years ago.

It's missing about an inch of length; I burn little chunks of it now and then for that sweet, sweet smell!BigGrin

Not sure if it helps you Goofy but I thought I'd post it anyhow.....

I was expecting,that peat wood is darker and not light brown.
I show result later under this weekend about my locomodel.

Peat color can vary a lot, so you can let your imagination go wild and make it really great with lighter & darker detail pieces... Smile

Anything will be better than the original shiny plastic look.... BigGrin

Nice work. Your peat looks much better than the glossy factory Trix/Marklin version.

It did maked big difference from plastic shine.
