Hi all,

I have recently managed to obtain an already constructed Faller B-99 station in not brilliant condition but will look fantastic on my 1970's era layout I am planning..
I would put in an image but can't work out how to do it!!!
How ever my question is the model has a notice board "Wagenstandanzeiger" with diagrams of train consists.
The coached are all different colours and numbers.
This will be to indicate what or how a particular train is made up(yes?)
I have been unable to find what/how the colours correspond to, can anyone help?

The colours are,
Black,
Yellow,
White,
Red,
Blue,
1/2 Yellow and Red,
1/2 White and Red.

Here is a contemporary example from Hannover. Not exactly what you were asking for, but already offering an indication. The second column shows train type and number, short explanations and train name. ICE, IC, EC and Thalys are in red. IR/IRE are in blue as well as special trains, night trains. Other trains, as those of private operators are in black (only giving the final destination).

Thanks Alstersteek,

As far as I remember, the coloured (more modern) ones were yellow (1st class), red (diner) green (2nd class).
There were additional colours for couchette and sleeping cars (blue) and others (car carriers/baggage?) were grey.
1/2 yellow and 1/2 red would be a first class coach with restaurant section. Not sure what 1/2 white and 1/2 red would be. (1/2 green would be second class with diner).
1/2 white or grey and 1/2 yellow or green would have been a coach with baggage compartment

The older ones were often like this: http://www.bahnalltag.de...remagen/picture-0150.jpg
At some point, the space where the class was indicated might have been coloured as above.

Regards

Mike C

Thanks Mike C,
I had thought that they would be something like that, in the UK the old BR(as was) first class coaches were indicated by a yellow band running around the top near the roof.
I dont know if the new rail companies still do this as I live in Australia now!
