It's fine -- the internals are the same as any other.

Hi Eddie,

It is a full-functional model made with a transparent body only to display the internal digital components (made at the early digital age for a promotional purpose).

Enjoy it and have fun !

Cheers

Renato

Just keep it out of direct sunlight. I have 3772 and 3774, both of which have yellowed horribly. They were cheap and the chassis are fine, so I'll either fit 3072/3074 bodies to them or wait for spare transparent bodies to turn up on ebay.

No, I didn't even know that one existed!

I know there are transparent Br.103s and ICE 3s out there, also 172mm and 188mm C-track straights (and end pieces). I think there was a short curved C-track section in a boxed set with a Z scale wagon, too?

Eddie, you might be interested in this post from last year when we discussed these on from a topic about serial numbers.

I too have one of the Transparent 216 models but mine is the tinted plastic in a nice yellow/green tinge, made that way not from yellowing, one of my favourite models and I run it often.

I also have the 212 in clear plastic, that one is now showing only very light indications of yellowing but I keep it out of the light usually.

Cheers

I do not have it, but it is on my wishing list, as well as the transparent
3000 and the 3167 S1.
