I'm afraid that it will be the common new "high performance drive" as it is known from most new Märklin models.

The Cab Forward is much to small to place a 5-pole motor.

BR 45, Marklin 37455 was the best lie of all the time!!! (and yes, i bought one...)

They (M) put 5-pole engine on a DB Schenker Rail Deutschland AG class 363 diesel switch engine, Marklin 37863!!!

You say " Cab Forward is much to small to place a 5-pole motor. " ???

Well...

Hi!

The analogue version of the 05 003 will have a motor with a bell-shaped armature and all metal gears. I wish they would give such precise information for all their locos.

The 05 003 is a streamlined loco that offers more room for the motor. I see no technical reason why they should not be able to install a five-pole motor with the digital version. Or a motor with a bell-shaped armature.

Maybe they didn't decide yet which type of motor the loco will have.
Stefan Löbich once said he checked the sales figures every day - I presume the current CEOs do the same.
They advertise the five-pole motors of the new NOHABs and now they watch how this announcement affects the sales figures.

If your purchase decision depends on the type of motor, write to Märklin Service and ask them which motor the loco will have.
Regards
Tom

I think it was purely ironic from Moritz's point of view....he just forgot the smiley Wink
(yes, the Cab Forward has such a wide body, so much room inside...)

PS, I Wonder what's the difference between the word "IRONIC" & the word "IRONICAL" in English....Both seem to exist Confused

BR 101 is just a great model from Marklin, heavy metal "old fashion"...I like this one too....I'm still hesitating because of the ERA
For customers what is the advantage of "loco of the month" ? Have dealers a special fare ?

Yes,

probabilly you are right... A smiley would make the difference!! Smile Sometimes i believe for real everything i read...

I remember an old class 44 with a 5-pole engine... it pulled all my passenger cars and wagons i have at that time...

A 5-pole engine, despite its noise characteristics , will always be a very good option: we know how it works and it seems very easy to replace

(most important, we know all of it's components)

"ironic" "ironical" will always be understandable! Wink

Apologies for my misunderstanding, Moritz-BR365

Another misunderstanding.
New Märklin constructions will not have the 5-pole motor known as "c90" motor or "coffee grinder motor" or whatever.

New constructions will have a 3-pole can motor or a 5-pole can motor or maybe a motor with a bell-shaped armature.

A Märklin CEO recently said on Märklin TV that 5-pole motors would not fit into the boilers of steam engines (and he looked somewhat uncomfortable as he said this). He also said that a motor in the tender wasn't an option.
Fact is that Märklin made tender-driven steam locos. Another fact is Märklin made steam locos with 5-pole motor in the boiler (one example is the pr T 3 #37140 - and that loco has a very small boiler).
Z scale locos have 5-pole motors.
H0 scale steamers have 3-pole motors because 5-pole motors would not fit. Sez the Märklin CEO. LOL

Earth is flat, pigs can fly, 5-pole motors do not fit into steamer boilers. Fundamental facts that we have to accept.
Regards
Tom

Maybe he was talking about the old DCM 5 pole motor? That one definitely does not fit in the boiler of any steamer. That's why they used to put them in the cab.

You got it, it was ironic.

To put a smiley behind each ironic sentence is like telling a joke and to say:"Now, You have to laugh!"

Hi!

trying not misunderstanding me anymore, this is the 5-pole engine that i meant before (dcm 5-pole, do i think...)

if there are other 5-pole engine, i can't recognize it (in the usual cilinder case)

Think they are the same now, or 20 years ago... Yes, like someone said, they don't fit in the boiler... (but they do fit in the cabine).

May i think new tooling worth nothing! (only to include ship motors and shut buyers eyes with cilinder engines...)

(Hope they never put the engine back in the tender....) Really!!

Off topic: they are perfectly silencious motors & so powerful....The noise mainly comes from the resonance of some gears configurations....Tongue

Mine actually arrived Thursday ThumpUp Wink

And just FYI, from the video @ http://www.maerklin.de/d...onen/insidermodelle.html the construction is the same as the 37050 05.001 and 37052 05.002 with the drive frame and front and rear bogies (trucks) articulated within the frame. So nothing new in the basic construction of the engine, but the placement of the motor, and gearbox is redesigned, and moved forward, presumably to allow the rear mounted smoke unit. Cool
