Interior seating kits were available from Marklin for some of these cars, as some roofs were removeable.

Lol, I completely misread your post, I must have been on something good. Basically anything prior 1970 had no interior seats included. In the 1970 catalogue they released the silver commuter wagons and the TEE metal series with the legend (NEW) because they came with interiors. Most of the others were added later on but I don't know exactly when. Most of the small cheap small passenger wagons never had them until much later. I remember being annoyed as a kid because Lima had interiors in the 60's and marklin didn't!

Some wagons produced for many years like the plastic French 4050 is available with and without them depending on the year they were made.

Hello all,

the 4076 ist the first passenger car that was equipped with interior seating from the beginning - replacing the 4050 in 1973. But both already have a plastic body.

Virtually all tinplate cars (and again many of the plastics, like 4072, 4073 4067, 4079, 4080) were first released without the seating and for some of them there was never developped such an inset.

From 1973, many of the more popular tinplate cars were equipped with an interior seating, first receiving new article numbers, but later also retaining their old ones.

The more intersting change in the appearance of these cars, however, was the change form the "simple" cellon strip representing the window panes to the moulded clear plastic part with three dimensionally modeled frames which took place in 1965.

Greetings

Hi all,

I have four oldest version 4045.1 DSB coaches and these are without interior seats. I have also some of the older 405X series TEE coaches without interior seats. And like writed before 4036 FS also are without interior like all older coaches. I have four of these 4036's.

Regards,
Janne

Hi,

The first cars which came with a fitted interior seats were the relaunched TEE-cars in 1968 (4085ff). The 4090 (from 1970) dome-car was the first tinplate- car which always was equipped with interior seats.
The next cars which were changed were the "Silberlinge" (Inox-cars) 4081ff from 1970.
The last express- car which never got interior seats - or beds in this case- (except for replicas) was the sleeper 4130, ceased in 1995.
I'm sorry, but I think I'm not able to do a complete list, I estimate that these are +100 cars including also the PRIMEX versions.

Regards

Markus

4066 and 4068 (SBB) also came without interior details, as did the coaches from the 3070/3071 TEE Sets and 4070/4071 add-on coaches.
The final two productions of the 4066 did have interior details as did the 3471 and 39700 TEE Sets.

I don't get to see many of the TEE without interiors, do yours have the white floor? That is another unusual feature of the ones I've seen, the white floor appeared also in one Kakadu wagon.

Sorry, guys,

I think I didn't express what I wanted to say with the right words. Here again - I hope a little more precise: "The 4076 is the car with the lowest article number that never came without the interior." But not even that is true, since this statement applies to the 4051, which replaced the 4027. But there is one article with a lower number than the 4090 (thanks Markus for reminding me of that one) that did not replace a previous "empty" one and this is the 4063 (FS) 1st class car. I think this is the one I was looking for in my previous posting. Thus, noteven my second statement is true, being contradicted by those two cars.

Best

Hello, BR 44,

although there is no "official" interior seating for the cars you mention, I "forged" one with a "floor" of 1mm plywood onto which seats and toilet rooms of the Märklin set 0225 are glued. These seats are moulded from grey plastic, thus, a little drop of light brown colour might serve well, since the original seats of these "Donnerbüchsen" (thunder can) cars are wooden ones.

The plywood floor for the 4041 should be equipped with a toilet, an "office" room, a number of pieces of luggage and express parcels and a conductor's figure.

Take care

The interior on that 4024 is added, it wouldn't have come with it originally. The wagons are in very nice condition indeed.
