Dear Märklin friends,

Does somebody know if it will work properly with the CS1 too?
Will it be available for the old generation of the Central Station?

Thanks in advance for the help

Also be aware that the Marklin 60831 and 60841 units (in the future mayby also the Marklin 60881/82/83 - S88 Units)
can be "Updated" with "New Firmware" which can only be done with the CS2 unit.

MS2 60653/57 ( SW:4.13 ) / MS1 60652 ( SW:1.8AP ) / 60883 S88 LINK ( SW:1.1 )
MDT 3 (SW 3.6.0) - HW: 60970 / 60971 / 60801

Hi FrankF...thank you so much for your helpful post. So it means that the "Old" Märklin traditionial compatibilty is now broken and you have to stand having the CS2 at all...lol!!!!

Best regards
Stefano

No. It means that you can use the CS2 to update the firmware, should some ever be released. This is a big step forward, compared to earlier digital equipment. Since you cannot update the older digital equipment, you are stuck with whatever bugs it may contain. With the new hardware, bugs can be fixed on already sold equipment.

If you do not have a CS2, your dealer can do it for you - or perhaps a friend.
