Nah, not really! Although I like F7's, I'd prefer something different like a 30470 Br44 or a 30390 E10!

I would prefer another US based loco, like a Dash 9-40 or a SD70 :-)

This is a perfect idea too, better than mine.LOL

These have never been made by Marklin, so a "Blue Box" model would not be appropriate.

Perhaps an all new model of another US loco might be popular. Marklin seems to have produced a few different ones in the last 10-15 years (Alco PA, Big Boy, Mikado, GG1), after decades of only producing the F7.

Thanks for mentioning the Alco PA... I wasn't sure about that model and after googling it, I'm about to buy a 37610 on ebay ^.^

For me the best idea.I have all the pairs of PA1 Alco marklin produse, they are perfect. They can pull everything you put after them very easily. They have noicy motors but who cares? But be carefull, one is enough, you will love them, and you will start hunting for all the rest.LOL BigGrin

Hi all
no there will none they told us about 6 months ago from my simba dickie contact
you got 576 pages on the main catalogue and having been
though their database in the last few days updating ours
they have quite a good lot of locos at present so
go for it and if your dealer has not got it they can see
on line if marklin has it and order it straight in
ALSO Faller have just introduced the same on their changed website
you can punch in the number and they will tell you if they have it at their warehouse
so both you and your dealer can order knowing they say they have it
above all have fun in your man sheds

There must be some contradictory information somewhere. I received my copy of Märklin Magazin last week, and the cover letter from the Insider Club, states: "Märklin plans to launch the 2014 Summer New Items and Exclusive #2 items in May/June".

So, what's the deal???Confused
Best regards,
Armando García

Probably old news that's out of date.

I'll maybe buy another BR 44 from the 60's (3047) for a dollar or 2 and this will keep my budget alive. second hand buying is the way to go and this way you can choose your locos you may have missed or couldn't afford. I've just bought a frame for a BR 86 steam loco for A$ 20.00 and will convert my old digital loco 3096 (60944) with a 60941 high efficiency motor with ball bearing on both sides. will use the 60944 conversion set for my second hand 3047 loco, so it all works out fine, no waiting time, no money or budget problems, no cheap motor and no complaints and I don't have to look out for old news becoming new news or obsolete.

I like to buy a combination of old second hand and new models "hot off the press". I buy about half a dozen locos of each group every year

- Old models for nostalgia and that "old Marklin" feeling.

- New models for the exitement of the "new", the excellent detail, and the new technology which adds playability.

Marklin promised many new models in this year's new items, and so far is delivering on schedule. If they need to skip the Summer new items this year I have no problem with that.

The Br 117 and its two coach packs looks very tempting, but it adds up to nearly €800! I'd love to see photos of this train though. Any ideas on the colours?

I think the BR 05 cab forward (39053) is a must for me. Not a really beautiful locomotive, but very special.
Maybe I go for the coach set too (43256) Have to see that first.

LOL

The 05 003 is the second Insider model this year. You don't believe it, but all Insider models are MHI models and so the second Insider model was announced as part of MHI Exclusiv 2/2014.
The coach set 43256 is also for Insiders.

See post #1, it lists the Insider models.

Funny thing about the new BR 117: newly constructed truck for the running axle, now probably at the right position and with the correct shape. And they don't mention a new minimum radius. Wink

They goofed that part on the Insider E 17, but back then they said the minimum radius required compromises. ThumbDown And now, three years later, they proof themselves wrong. ThumpUp
So those who criticized the incorrect position of the axle and the incorrect shape of the truck have been rehabilitated, those who laughed at the critics now look like fools. Flapper

I will ask them if I can get a pair of those trucks for my E 17 ... Wink
Regards
Tom

The new BR117 has 2 axles powered with an new motor and brasswheel.
Not a chance that this new truck fits older E17.

41322 looks very nice... only issue I have is the lack of power pickup for each car. I wonder if I could install a shoe onto one of the rebuild cars so I could run them as a separate pair....Confused. I've been looking for a nice set with lighting and tail lights.

Just like the old E 17. The only difference are the new trucks for the running axles.

Why not? They won't make more changes than they have to.

When I compare the Märklin new items with those of their competitors, I realize that Märklin (and also Fleischmann) still concentrates to a high degree on "green DB era", i.e. DB steam era and DRG era, while other firms are focusing modern era, such as Piko.

So far, most of Märklin's 2014 new toolings are steamers. If they still have enough customers for these - these new toolings are okay. A market leader, however, should cover all eras of rail history. So, where are Märklin's 2014 new tooling for modern diesels and electrics?

In my opinion, some modern EMU for an affordable price would have been a far better choice than that extremely exotic cab-forward 05 003 which has been a faulty design in 1:1 scale.

Really bad news for my wallet.
Yesterday I ordered the 37002 for my Goliath train 49950+49951.
And I think I´ll order the 39413 for the 43803+43829 set too which I´ll preorder. I have the old 39412 and I like it very much. I like the looks on the cab 43829 much better than on the 43832.

Edit: BTW, does anyone know what kind of motor is in the 37002? The parts list says it costs less than 20 Euros.

It is "high-efficiency propulsion" and the price tag should answer what type of motor it is: the new Märklin standard motor that exceeds their requirements by far (AKA the "good news for my wallet motor" because it does not meet my requirements).

Hi Tom,

Did the Kundendienst reply to your question about the trucks yet? I'd be curious to know if it's possible to retrofit those new trucks for my E 17 as well.
Best regards,
Armando García
