Edit: Now you can see why I am a sniper. See how m***i has run the price up on r***e? From 305 euros to 560 and he still is not high bid.

The sales talk of the seller is a bit hilarious, he would be a good car salesman.
Interesting to see where this all ends....€ 600, €700, € 800 ???
Running this loco would be a waste, so I think the loco is only interesting for real die hard collectors.

Hi all,

Any information on the red Märklin sign, would that be produced for Märklin.

Wouldn't mind a couple of them for my display cabinets.

Ian.

It's just a 3021. Why would anyone want to bid that kind of money on a loco that's probably the most common after the 3000?

If you want one of these in perfect condition just buy a 30210....BigGrin

Up another 330E. Definitely put his final bid in much to early.

I was interested until it got over 400 Euros. A different road number than 30210 and in new condition. I was planning to put the shell on a 30210 chassis and swap in a LoPi decoder. I think if the bidding had waited until the end it wouldn't be so high. Some folks get the red mist and keep upping their bid hoping to get above the current high bidder.

It is so early to bid high that they seem inexperienced ebay buyers... although it shouldn't be because they probably are good collectors...

The last picture shows the sellers seems to have some more great items to sell, like a 3067.1.
Mine costed 195€ and it is not mint as you can see the pictures in the 50 years of NOHAB thread. Anyway I wouldn't pay 10 times more for a mint one.

920+ (right now 23 mins before end) is a bit ridiculous for a 3021, regardless of condition...

And it went for 920,95 Euros - which I think is way too much for a fairly common model even if it was in pristine condition...

...and that folks is the end of the reasonably priced 3021s with DEUTSCHE BUNDESBAHN on the side. Everyone now will be asking stupid money for them for like new in the box.

Let's wait and see what happens to the other items of the seller, in case he sells them.

Here is a new /never run 3021.1 with original box and test signet for sale for € 420,=, this price is far more realistic if you ask me.

I love these older models in perfect condition, too, but there's a limit!!

My 3021.6 is not quite unused (though it is extremely good), and it has the same version of box as this one, and I paid 54 Euros for it last year at a saleroom auction in Germany!

Have I missed something - is this a very special loco? There were three bidders bidding above 580 Euros.

Baffling!

Hi Ian,

Those signs are quite hard to find, they are die-cast and have an achilles-heal, if they are dropped and happen to land at the wrong angle, very easy to break and I'm not aware of a good strong adhesive suitable for diecast - and it may be a cheap version of diecast also, not same material as the Loco's are cast from - I've heard them referred to as 'pig-metal' or 'shxt-metal' also.

Very collectible item. I'll see if I can put up a picture of mine later on when I'm home.

Cheers

Steve

Did anybody have a look at his "other items for sale"

He has a mint 3070 TEE and a couple of others but none of the ones in his display as yet Blink

Hi Ian,

These signs were made out of aluminum, in blue and red, see picture.
On a German mrr forum is a thread with 7 pages full of items for the real die hard Marklin Devotees, see here: LINK TO GERMAN FORUM
I think the clock is really nice for your trainroom too.
