My turntable (7286) has begun with a humming, vibrating sound, particularly when operating continuously
The sound vary on where the bridge is
It works with analog and AC, and is leveled
Are there any proposals to eliminate the sound
Best regards

Hi Joergen,

I had some suggestions but they apply to the previous turntable model.

As I do not have your model (another type of motor I think), unfortunately I am not able to help you.

Cheers

Renato

Hi Jørgen,all,
First and foremost check the motor first. Also check ALL the wiring both with TT and the controller.

Hi Jørgen,

I have had this turntable for some years.

It did start to make such noise some years ago but after a little oil to the moter it quietened.

If you have the instruction booklet it shows you where to apply the oil.

Regards,

PJ

It seems that I need to find out how I can lift bridge.
Is it "just" to loosen the screw in the center + remove items at both ends?
Did not find a drawing on Märklin website / is it in?

And by the way thank you for the inputs
Best regards

Hi Jørgen, yes. You need to remove two pieces at either end of the bridge. It does not have to be a track.

BTW,this TT is a FL model,not a M one.

Hello again,

Interesting that the current manual warns against oiling.

My turntable was actually from Fleischmann, about a year or so before Märklin started selling it (but it was still made by Fleischmann, as I believe remains the case.)

The original manual indeed describes how to oil the unit (see image below)

PJ

I've tried to drip a little oil into both holes, and it seems to have helped, but then the sound had moved and not as powerful ( with good help from Tasmania )

The bridge is also of for giving something extra patina.

I have also made 4 screws under, so that the turntable can be completely leveled.
Best regards

My conclusion

  • The bridge is assembled and functioning
The oil does not seem particularly to have helped
Sound output is now only in the same place (about 90 degrees)
The base is leveled and supported
The sound is only when the analog control is set for continuous operation
So it must be the magnet that provides for "no stop" that clack

So how I come around that, I don't know, but my wife has made some good improvements with the weathering

Best regards
