Hi!

I've been searching the web for a prototype picture of Märklin item 4415.
It is said to be a model of Ichqs-u 377 der Deutschen Bundesbahn (DB)/Interfrigo.

Does anyone know if this car actually has a real prototype?
The reason for asking is because I want to find photos to make a prototypic weathering.

Hi Martin,

The car is a very free interpretation of the Tehs50 which was also made by Märklin in the 1960s (4620).

Hi,

My favourite DB freight car. And Auntie M produced it again in the 2000s:

2002-2006: Tehs 50 Kühlwagen 45020
2004-2008: Tehs 50 Bierwagen 45021
2002-2004: Wagenset "Kolonialwaren" with, inter alia, Tehs 50 47904
2006: Insider-Jahreswagen Tehs 50 "Migros" 48150

I do have a 45020 "Seefische" and a 47904 "Kolonialwaren".

Vielen dank für dein antwort Markus!

I did then a free interpretation of a very dirty and rusty car.
Seriously! What can possible be more dirty and rusty than a originally White car?!

It doesn't look very hygienic for the foodstuffs it's supposed to carry! BigGrin

Maybe they keep the inside in a better hygienic condition... BigGrin

The longer 4620 from the 60's looks much better - IMHO... Still have mine...

I agree! I have a couple of the newer versions of the correct length fridge cars, and I'm looking at getting some of the older ones on ebay. It's a shame that many of them are warped, though!

Hi!

Looking at the nice picture Markus published, it seems the car has a yellow tint.
I weathered a second car 4415, using a more deluted black wash and layered it with airbrushed "Sand".
Brought the color appearence a bit closer to the prototype picture, even though I do have like a mile to go...

Here's in comparision to the previously weathered car.
