What is the quality of the JC product like overall, and how does the basic compare with the high end products?

Quality is allways difficult to describe because we all have different thoughts about it.

However, their modells are:
highly detailed with many metal parts
plastic body
accurate on scale and details
silent motors
advanced electronics
smooth runners
very neat innerworks

I have two of them, the Rh 1822 and Rh 4012 (see loco review section), and consider them as my top loco's.

The high end versions vary from the basic versions in electronics. Exterior is exactly the same. I believe the high end versions have interior lighting and electronic couplers. But this varies between models. Often a description between high end and basic is given in their brochure.
