Old steam engines are interesting indeed, unfortunately I don't know any part numbers for the old Märklin ones...

Maybe someone else can answer this?

Hi "gameing.mad.1" (how about your first name, so much more friendly) BigGrin

I have a couple of steam engines myself, I have 4097/5/91 from the last 20's or early 30's, and fortunately in very good condition, and I also got the reproduction Engine 16051 from 2004.

I have never seen a spare parts listing for these and I suspect this is a part you will either have to find from a scrap unit, or possibly have one made. Have you tried cleaning the flywheel?, often the corrosion looks worse than it is and a good clean can remove a lot of surface contamination, but I'd also take very precise measurements and detailed photos before starting any cleaning just in case it crumbles apart on you - I have to say, I've not seen one damaged in that way so it may have got damp at some stage.

There are a number of forums of like-minded Steam enthusiasts on the 'net and you may have better luck with one of those. The engines do come up quite regularly on Ebay but I'd search the German site www.ebay.de specifically for better results - ie check this out, might be just what you want...

I have run mine off compressed air without any problems and it's quite a popular way of running them at exhibitions.

I've added some images below which may help including a picture of my one

Good luck.

Here's the catalogue entry for your model 4095/4 from the 1947 catalogue...
