This may be of interest, rescued from PKP in the 1970's and ex USATC S160 built for the invasion of Europe in 1944..Restored and running this week after 22 years..

There is a quasi-identical loco (design and origin) running on the Belgian RR SNCB, the Class 29 #29013

Fascinating the whistle is the same too, they got everywhere.There is good book about them on sale here, they had some lethal boiler issues to be sorted originally..
So we have two WW2 2 8 0 's both recovered from overseas..
