Great sounds! Just like my journeys on overnight services in the past. I would also think that couplers engaging would be good as well as a journey from Calais in France to Milan involves four engine changes. I know this coach would not run on this route but loco changes might need to be done. Anyway it's very nice and I like the idear. I wounder if the decoder will be availble for other coaches!

Looks like the whole Märklin team is running the firm from this sleeping car.

For Marklin brochures collectors: there is a little leaflet about those two items , the sleeping car and the set. We can find it in all shops, I got one . 8 pages - including covers - It reminds me all those pretty brochures still published by Marklin 8/10 years ago...
Beautiful Paper, almost luxurious.
Presentation of items, small story of an overnight trip into sleeping coaches to the North Sea in the 60's ...
Very "Goppingen style", like in the old times when Marklin was accustomed to take care of the users...

I quite like the set, but it's a little old for my Marklin stock era. I am looking at getting Marklin 1/100 Dutch and Belgium couchette and sleepers. May be I shall record some sounds on my trip on an overnight service from Hertogenbosch in Holland to Koper in Croatia this summer. Can't weight. The sounds may be a bit different, especially if there's curry on the menuLOL BigGrin

I've got to say- Marklin kind of blew it on the Marketing with this car. At the price it is an awesome animated gimmick for the layout.

They should have done some video, and in all digital/paper brochures really red flag the sound and functions.... I grazed past it as just another red passenger car I don't know how many times... Could have cost them a sale had I not seen this post BigGrin Flapper

I received mine yesterday and there is more to the functions than advertised so far BigGrin ThumpUp
The MFX decoder was recognised in the usual way ThumpUp
FO is the coridor lights down the whole of one side of the car (as corridors go Tongue )
F1-6 is individual lighting for the various compartments.
There are several speaking functions, from a morning wakeup call, a boarding greeting, with a door knock as they do, and a request for trickets.
There are the ablution sound affectrs but the snoring is a continuous one and seems to be the snoring of a rather troubled spleeper, interupted with rather flatulant sounding noises LOL

A comprehensive instruction booklet in all the usual languages is included and as well, a small brochure depicting how the car should be placed in the consist with the M43204 Set. The car has the RTS styler current conducting couplers and FO that turns on the corridor lights, which also activate in analogue mode, also turns on the current conducting couplers, to light the whole train.
There are warnings in the instructions to replace the couplers with regular ones if the car is run in a consist with metal couplers ! Scared
Also with the 43204 consist, to remove the pickup shoe from the car in that set !ThumpUp Razz Scared

The train will feature on my layout, but I wonder if the cars have holding tanks, because if there is any straight to rail dispopsal, as a lot of wagons still had even 8 years ago when I travelled Europe by train, there will be a Prieserling uproar about any on track dumpings if someomne should use the toilet at the station next door to their beloved Hotel Woot
