Hi, I have just started building a Marklin Spur 1 Garden layout, for anyone interested in following this project checkout my blog at

http://gardenrailwayspur1.blogspot.co.uk

I've got a Marklin Central Station from which I'm hoping to control the turnouts, can anyone advise me, are the marklin turnout decoders and solenoids that come with the turnouts waterproof? Confused

Looks good. I think the motors and decoders are waterproof but will have to check.

We have an exhibition next month where we will be showing off our club's 1 Gauge modular layout, Istein. Looking forward to it.

Hi Hans,

No they aren't. Not the decoders and not the solenoids. The decoders can be used when build in water-proof boxes. Märklin suggests to remove the solenoids when not in use on outdoor layouts. Waterproof drives for switches can be found at LGB or other suppliers for G-scale.

Regards

Markus

You need just only two wires to the tracks to Control layout in the garden while turnouts decoder and trafo must been inside doors.

DCC = Digital Command Control
