The 39562 body is the same as the 2002 model 39561, only the number, the motor c-sinus compact and the whistle are different.

In my opinion the best swiss croco model are 39560 and 39561, they run as swiss clock by the great C-sinus. I own both these loco plus the 3756 and 37569 weathered and 26730 convoy (3756 again, but lightly weathered) plus brown 3352 green 3300 and plastic 3056 and last the 3015 and 36159 replica. I'm happy and won't buy the new 37562.
Sorry, I don't know who made the big scale gator.

Yes, she is in very good condition. Only the pickup-shoe reveals that she has been used (and quite a bit too by the looks of it).
The rest of her is in perfect condition.

Now for the big question: Should I leave her as she is (analog), which then will be for display only.
Or should I rebuild her for digital operation, and put her on active duty on my layout? biggrin
(I've already made up my mind, but just want to hear your opinion).

I'm with Guus - preserve her [:p] (like I did with my green one, never to regret)
And if you want additional fun you can always add a small analog track to your layout
(how about a steep mountain ramp?) - it's just nice, and so rewarding ... Smile

Panayotis:

Did you look inside the lok? I got a great deal on a 3039 E110 that looked like it had never touched a track because it was missing windows (the Gepruft tag was still attached!). When I opened it up, they were inside. If not, what about fitting a window leftover from a building kit? (By the way, I agree with Guus and John...some loks should never be modified. That E110 is one of my "never to be converted" loks along with my 3021.1 in pristine condition I scored for a song on ebay and my 3125 Roter Pfeil that looks like it just rolled out of the factory)

Thank you everyone.
A part of me says that I should keep her as she is now. But it won't be practical to have an analog section on my layout, no matter how much I like that idea [:(]

But as much as I enjoy looking at a model in a vitrine, I enjoy running the trains at least twice as much (and even much more). So this one will have to run again. On my way home from work, I got all the required motorparts as well as a Loksound decoder. So guess what... She is going fully digital in a few days.

I would also convert, Mikael

When I convert an excpencive or rare (or both) model, I never do any modifications to the chassis or body. I also remove all the old parts as complete as possible, and store them carefully. Then it is possibible to rebuild back to original later on.

When I converted my 3300 croco to 60923, I only unsoldered the red and the brown wire and lifted the motorparts, the direction relay, the electronic unit and bulb sockets out as one "unit".
After installing the newer double bulb sockets and new light guides, I could achieve the correct light change, 3+1.

And, I would install a couple of 7205 close couplers.

Good luck with the convertion!

Hi Panayotis, those windows for the Croco got no own part # - but never mind:
Asked my dealer who said it should be no major problem for your dealer ordering them from M Smile
He successfully did so with my F7 windows last year (if memory serves I waited about 6 weeks -
price was $1/window, also no part #). Just specify what window, plus the loco's model #

This sounds most interesting. Double bulb sockets??? I've never heard of them before. Is it just new sockets and light guides, and no other modifications? Sounds too good to be true. Do you have any spare part numbers for me?

<br />Look at this topic, Mikael

Thanks a lot, but today I discovered that she already has the double bulb sockets installed (and appropriate light guides). I just didn't see that when I had a quick look inside her yesterday.
I haven't done the swiss light with diodes. Instead I've just wired the four lights up to the two light outputs, AUX1 and AUX2. Then I can just program the decoder to make the desired light patterns.
