There were two small Dutch MRR forums present on Eurospoor.

“Modelspoor wijzer” and the “Benelux forum”, the first one was asking for $$$ - €€€ donations.

I sure hope that next year the No 1 best international forum is also present at Eurospoor.
Yeah, I mean M-users !
Maybe a M-users stand next to Mike's (Hennabm) layout ?

A promo stand of Ian’s UK Marklin museum would not be misplaced too on Eurospoor.

Some more 2nd hand market photos....

I almost bought the huge Faller Play train set with many additional accessories....but once again the seller wanted no negotiation about the price.

I had to drip my eye every hour, so we often visited the food corners.
So my boys were very happy.
A great compliment to Eurospoor regarding all the food corners that had very affordable prices.
Two french fries, a big sandwich and a large coffee was only € 8, at home I pay more for that in my local snackbar !

My oldest son Stefan (13) had filmed the whole Eurospoor event.
At some point I found out that he was zooming in on what he called train nerds.
I forbid him to do that.
But once home I had to say that some of his recordings were very funny indeed, but maybe unsuitable to post on the forum and ridicul train hobbyist that way.

I had to take a lot of painkillers due to the infection and amoeba parasite in my eye.
I was on a cocktail of 2 grams Paracetamol, 150mg Diclofenac and 150mg Tramadol (Morphine) .
Due to the Morphine I had the feeling when walked on the soft red carpet I was bouncing 50cm up and down.

Marco,

Your report is excellent, and sums up the atmosphere very well.

PS: I am sorry but I did not take any pictures of the second hand market, on the first day I was too busy shopping, and today (Sunday) I knew Marco had done such an excellent job of photographing the stalls and teasing you all with the delicacies on offer. I have however shot some video of the various layouts and I just need to get it uploaded so you can watch. One layout took around 15 minutes to walk around and film, as is was a huge long layout made up of numerous modules and it was excellent to see. More to follow.

I'm not sure how many holidays you can accumulate in Canada , down here in Oz I get 5 weeks annual holidays each year being a shift worker [ office workers only get 4 weeks ] & can pass them over to the following year so that I would have 10 weeks to play with. This my plan for 2015 at the present time but I may be retired by then so wont have to worry about the holiday part .

Unfortunately I could not get that much time off all at one time. My hope is to do Eurospoor in 2014, and make the treff for 2015. I was at the treff this year, and loved it. I came back suitcase bulging! I also met some wonderful marklinites, and members of this forum.

With luck I can make an annual fall trip, all for Marklin!

The Conrad Company was selling 3D printers on Eurospoor for € 699 and did a demonstration of printing MRR products, such as containers.
It was amazing to see how an object emerged in the printer.
The printer could make opjects of max 20x20x20cm.

Many MRR work in action demonstrations on Eurospoor such as working with the Dremel and flocking with electrostatic flocking devices, although I must say that the stand with the flocking devices was not staffed all day, maybe they had a day off in the 3 day event ??

Marco, just looking at the number of people in the background of the photo's , there seems to be rather few people buying / looking than what I can remember of the 2009 Eurospoor ,We were there on the Friday & most of Saturday & can remember having to wind our way thru many people especially in the second hand hall . I really appreciate the trouble you have gone to present your pictures on here for the rest of us to see & drool over while trying to make up our minds as when we could attend. Remember your boys are still young & probably don't appreciate old geezers like us looking thru so many old toys to find the one they may be after at the time but when they mature & sit back & watch the videos they will have a good laugh about what they are seeing .

Kind regards & look after the eye,

After being 7 hours on the show we left at 5 pm.

The long corridors in the exhibition complex resemble those in an international airport.
And even more with all those different languages spoken, besides Dutch we heard lots of French, English, German and Scandinavian talking. Eurospoor is a very international event.

It was funny to see that on the way to the Utrecht train station - only a 5 minutes walk - was a long line of visitors carry big bags with their purchases. At the station we shot a passing freight train and went home, all three of us very tired.

Hi Tom,

I think you're right about few people buying,
I saw people doing lots of purchases, but I also thought it was less than last year.
It could be the economic crisis that we have in the Netherlands and Europe, the Netherlands suffers heavily by the crisis.

Found a tiny stand near the entrance of Eurospoor promoting very tiny trains,Scale T 1/450.
Please keep an eye on website Tspur.nl,i get the impression it will come live early November.
Unlike earlier trains found with this scale which were driven by hidden rubber strings,Tspur trains have their own electric motor and electric lighting.
They sell an 8 coach DB ICE for around 200 Euro's.
The track still looks very convincing, taking into account the scale.
I understand the wheels are magnetic for extra grip.
Story goes they will bring out USA prototypes also, but have not yet found them on internet.
The level of detailing is of course nothing compared to H0 scale but perhaps a T scale layout can be operated as a sidecick next to a proper Maerklin H0 collection?

Hi thanks Glenn, yes we did get out flight back and it was good to catch up. I will proberbly do it again as flying is easy, as we are in the midlands. I have never seen so much Marklin , new as well as old including m track and the old overhead which I prefer along side k and c track. We even got a ride on a Dutch train from the airport plus some Marklin bargains! I recommend this show. The shows in the Uk don't touch it!BigGrin

Finally, I have a (HD) video to show you from Eurospoor, I apologise for the delay but I have been short of time recently, and so we will start with a video of my favourite display layout at Eurospoor, the layout was principally of a stretch of line being worked on by the maintenance team, and is in two parts to best show off each section of the layout.........enjoy........

Hi Glenn,

Thanks a lot for your kind words.
I was indeed not feeling well at all, but I really wanted to visit Eurospoor, no matter what.

In the last minute of your first movie you can hear in the background 2 guys having a coversation in Dutch language. One of them (probably the owner and builder of the layout) is telling that in real life he has been working in rail construction and maintenance.

So I see why the layout is modeled so well.
Thanks for sharing your exellent movies. ThumpUp
