As mentioned in the Wellington Earthquake thread, last weekend I was in Taupo for the Taupo Hobby Expo. One of our club members took his Gauge 1 layout 'Uri' to Taupo, and a few extra members tagged along to help.

The exhibition is not just for MRR (though there were plenty of those), there were other model related hobbies, and various arts and crafts.

I managed to take some photos and videos during the weekend. I'll start with the videos.

First up is a couple of videos of Gauge 1 trains - my Marklin 55585 Br58 and a Marklin G1 Crocodile

Next is a small video of a Marklin M track layout of the sort we all would have had when we were kids.

There were a few Tyco slotcar layouts at the show, so I knew Marco would love these

This next video is of a N gauge layout - pity it ever only had one train running on it - I think it was owned by the same guy showing off the Tyco layout in videos 1, 2 and 4. The layout is for sale - anyone with a spare $2900 NZD?

Scalectrix Slot Cars - The kids were able to pay $1 and have a go racing the cars.

And lastly, a small video of some Hornby Tin Plate trains

Hi Dave,

Thank a lot for filming the slot layouts too.

That must have been a great show with mrr and slot cars combined.

Your new BR58 loco runs very close to the edge of the layout, I would have been afraid that it fell over the edge
Once again, thanks for sharing !! ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp

Nice train length of hopper cars. You had a spurt of inspirational genesis when you decided to get those.

But they are rather clean compared to the loco so a bit of weathering may be in order!!!!!

They've all got the same road number as well!

I need to make up some more loads for the other 9 cars, as well as weather them, as you suggest.

Peter had his weathered Br44 at the show, but it is nowhere as heavily weathered as the Br58.
